The present invention provides a system and method for prioritized application of operational power receiving over a data transmission cable. The system includes a primary component, at least one secondary component, and a power supply. The system further includes a data transmission cable for transmitting operational power from the power supply to the primary component and the at least one secondary component, and for transmitting data between the primary component and a remote station. The system further includes a splitter for separating the operational power from the data received over the data transmission cable, and prioritizing delivery of the operational power to the primary component and the at least one secondary component, wherein at least a threshold level of power is delivered to the primary component, and available operational power in excess of the threshold level is delivered to the at least one secondary component.

Power over ethernet prioritization system and method for surveillance cameras

A pressurizable camera housing of a surveillance camera. The housing includes a transparent dome, an upper housing shell, and an upper sealing plate. The components are separable for access to the housing interior for installation and maintenance purposes. O-ring seals are provided between the separable components for maintaining pressure within the housing. A pivotal mounting bracket includes a hinged portion allowing access to wiring, circuitry and other components behind the bracket.

A support pole for raising and lowering a supported object between a lower position and an elevated position is disclosed. The support pole includes an elongate pole having a top, a bottom, and a channel extending at least partly between the top and bottom. A threaded rod is rotationally mounted within the channel, and is connected to a detachable coupling for engaging a drive tool to rotationally drive the threaded rod. A carriage engages the threaded rod, such that rotation of the rod imparts translational movement upon the carriage through the channel. The carriage includes a mounting bracket for attachment of the supported object thereto. A cable connecting the supported object and an external device or power source has a detachable coupling, and is carried along a pulley at the top of the elongate pole when the carriage is raised and lowered. A return spring is connected to one end of the cable to retract the free end of the cable back to the base of the pole when the supported object is raised into the elevated position. Carriage locks at the top of the pole engage the carriage in the elevated position to prevent vibration of the supported object. A stabilizer frame within the channel minimizes vibration of the threaded rod as it is rotationally driven.

Housing for a surveillance camera

A housing for a surveillance camera is generally dome shaped, the camera being movable therein, and the interior of the housing is under pressure to exclude contaminants. The housing is made up of an assembly plate having a central opening to receive a lower dome therethrough, with an upper enclosure placed on top of the assembly plate. The lower dome and upper enclosure are sealed to the assembly plate to retain gas under pressure within the interior. An accessory bracket is carried by the assembly plate within the upper enclosure, and a surveillance camera is mounted from the accessory bracket. An upper dome may be placed over the upper enclosure as a sun shield. In installing the housing, a mounting bracket is first installed, then the assembly plate is carried by the mounting bracket. The lower dome is put into place, followed by the accessory bracket, the upper enclosure, and finally the upper dome. Subsequently, the interior can be pressurized by the introducing gas through the valve.
