A torque transmission device for a powertrain of a motor vehicle has an input area and an output area. A torque path runs from the input area to the output area. A torsional vibration damping unit is positioned first, followed by a gear unit, along the torque path between the input area and the output area. The torsional vibration damping unit provides a first spatial area and an adjoining second spatial area along the torque path, and the gear unit provides an adjoining third spatial area.

Torque-transmission device

A starting element () for use, for example, in a drivetrain of a motor vehicle, includes a piston () which divides a first volume () that can be filled with a fluid from a second volume () that can be filled with a fluid, wherein the piston () comprises at least one fluid passage () which allows the fluid at least occasionally to pass through the piston () from the first volume () into the second volume () and/or from the second volume () into the first volume (). The at least one fluid passage () comprises a passage component part () and a receiving opening () in the piston (). The passage component part () is inserted into the receiving opening so that at least one passage opening () is formed which allows the fluid to pass through at least occasionally.

Starting element

A clutch device has a friction transmission element which has a base with at least one friction surface, at least one control element for acting on a damping device, and at least one radial support which cooperates with a stop and has a plurality of lugs which extend at least substantially radially in direction toward the stop and which are at least substantially brought closer to the stop up to a gap before the stop when the friction transmission element is stationary, while, at speed, at least a portion of the lugs comes in contact with the stop. The lugs are connected to the base via a bend which causes an axial offset with respect to the base, the bend allows a displacement of the lugs in direction toward the energy accumulators, and the lugs are completely covered by the stop in an axial extension direction.

Clutch device with a friction transmission element

A starting element for transmitting torque from a drive-side rotational input () of the starting element to a driven hub () includes a hydrodynamic torque converter () which has a turbine coupled to the driven hub () so as to be fixed with respect to rotation relative to it and which comprises a turbine shell () with turbine blades () arranged therein. A maximum extension of the turbine shell () opposite an axial direction () terminates at a first axial position (), and an impeller () located opposite the turbine in the axial direction (). A stator () is arranged between the turbine and the impeller () and is coupled via a stator flange () to a freewheel () adjoining the driven hub () in an axial direction (). A center of the freewheel () is located at a second axial position (). A difference between the first axial position () and the second axial position () is greater than a predetermined minimum value.

Starting element with hydrodynamic torque converter

A starting element has a housing () and a guide pin () for centering the starting element during assembly. The guide pin () is made of sheet metal and is connected to the housing () by means of a positive connection. A method of producing such housing of a starter element is also disclosed.

A hydrodynamic clutch includes a hydrodynamic circuit formed by at least a pump wheel and a turbine wheel in a clutch housing with a drive-side housing wall extending to the axis of rotation, and a bridging clutch with a piston capable of shifting axially relative to the drive-side housing wall. The turbine wheel is connected to a hub, which is connected for rotation in common to a takeoff, and is axially supported between the hydrodynamic circuit and the clutch housing, and has first and second flow passages which are axially offset from each other. The hub has a drive-side end with an axial bearing area which can be moved into axial contact with an axial bearing, which is either an axial contact surface on the drive-side housing wall or is assigned to the drive-side housing wall.

Hydrodynamic clutch device

A hydrodynamic clutch includes a hydrodynamic circuit formed by at least a pump wheel and a turbine wheel in a clutch housing with a drive-side housing wall extending to the axis of rotation, and a bridging clutch with a piston capable of shifting axially relative to the drive-side housing wall. The turbine wheel is connected to a hub, which is connected for rotation in common to a takeoff, and is axially supported between the hydrodynamic circuit and a flow guide element, which is supported between the hub and the drive-side housing wall, and has first and second flow passages which are axially offset from each other. The flow guide element has a drive-side end with an axial bearing area which can be moved into axial contact with an axial bearing, which is either an axial contact surface on the drive-side housing wall or is assigned to the drive-side housing wall.

A drive system for a motor vehicle comprises a drive unit with a drive shaft and a torque-transmitting assembly, which is to be connected on the drive side to the drive shaft for rotation in common around an axis of rotation (A) and which is to be connected on the takeoff side to a gearbox. The drive-side connection is accomplished by means of an axial plug-in connection arrangement, and the torque-transmitting assembly is supported in at least one axial direction on the gearbox.

Drive system for a motor vehicle

A hydrodynamic clutch includes a housing which can be brought into working connection with a drive; a hydrodynamic circuit formed by a pump wheel and a turbine wheel; a torsional vibration damper having a drive side transmission element, a takeoff side transmission element, and at least one energy storage group between the transmission elements; and a bridging clutch including first friction elements connected to the housing and second friction elements connected to the drive side transmission element. A first flow route extends from a first flow passage to the friction elements, and a second flow route extends from the hydrodynamic circuit to a second flow passage. A sealing arrangement cooperates with the drive side transmission element to separate the first flow route from the second flow route.

A torsional vibration damper for a piston-equipped bridging clutch of a hydrodynamic clutch device includes a drive-side transmitting element for at least one damping unit, which is in working connection by way of a transmitting element on the power takeoff-side with a power takeoff component assigned to it, where at least one angle of rotation limiter is assigned to the damping unit. At least one projection is provided on one of the transmitting elements, this projection extending toward the other transmitting element and engaging in an assigned recess in the other transmitting element with predetermined play in the axial direction to form an angle of rotation limiter, where the recess is provided with an appropriate circumferential dimension for the projection to ensure the possibility of a predetermined relative deflection between the two transmitting elements.

Torsional vibration damper

A torsional vibration damper on the bridging clutch of a hydrodynamic clutch arrangement has a first connecting device, which can be brought into working connection with the clutch housing and with a drive-side transmission element. The drive-side transmission element is connected via first energy-storage devices to an intermediate transmission element. The torsional vibration damper also has a second connecting device for establishing a working connection via second energy-storage devices between the intermediate transmission element and a takeoff-side transmission element, which is connected to a takeoff-side component of the hydrodynamic clutch arrangement. The intermediate transmission element accepts a mass element, located operatively between the two connecting devices.

A bridging clutch is installed in a fluid medium-filled housing of a hydrodynamic coupling device located between a drive shaft and a transmission input shaft, the coupling device also containing a pump wheel and a turbine wheel. The bridging clutch is provided with a piston, which, when moved into a first axial position, brings at least one friction element into working connection with at least one friction surface, and when moved into a second axial position, at least partially releases this working connection, and with a torsional vibration damper, which is designed with at least one drive element and with at least one takeoff element, at least one of which has openings for circumferential springs and actuating areas for these springs. At least one of the takeoff elements acts a carrier element for the turbine wheel, which is held otherwise without radial support in the housing. At least one of these elements, namely, either the drive element or the takeoff element, has at least one radial area which is brought up in the axial direction essentially without play to the other one of the elements in question, which radial area serves as axial support for the positioning of the turbine wheel in this direction with respect to the housing of the coupling device.

Bridging clutch

A hydrodynamic clutch device for a hydrodynamic torque converter includes a turbine wheel for rotation about an axis of rotation. The turbine wheel is connected by a lockup clutch arrangement for transmitting torque to a housing arrangement. The turbine wheel includes a turbine wheel shell for housing turbine wheel blades. The turbine wheel shell is operably connected by a torsional vibration damper arrangement for transmitting torque. The torsional vibration damper arrangement includes a first transmission element coupled with the lockup clutch arrangement and the turbine wheel shell and includes a second transmission element coupled with the first transmission element for transmitting torque by means of a damper element arrangement; and wherein the first transmission element is supported at the housing arrangement in a first direction by a bearing arrangement.

In a hydrodynamic clutch with a lockup clutch, a hydraulic fluid is in operative connection with a piston space outside of a driven shaft constructed as a hollow shaft by means of a plurality of fluid channels. The piston space adjoins an actuation piston by means of which the lockup clutch can be actuated. The fluid channels extend substantially axially in a partial portion. In the partial portion, the fluid channels are surrounded on the radial inside by the driven shaft and are surrounded on the radial outer side and in circumferential direction by a hub part.

Hydrodynamic clutch, particularly torque converter

A hydraulic clutch has an impeller wheel, a turbine wheel with a turbine wheel shell, a turbine torsional vibration damper and a lockup clutch. The turbine wheel shell receives a connection element with which it acts on the torsional vibration damper. The lockup clutch has at least one clutch disk arranged at a disk carrier. The turbine wheel shell is connected on the radial inner side with the connection element. The disk carrier passes into a holding clamp which is connected to the turbine wheel shell in a radially eccentric manner. The disk carrier is connected with the connection element so as to be fixed with respect to rotation relative to it.
