Process for the production of alkyltin halides

A heat stabilizer composition comprising a) at least one mono-octyltin compound (n-Oc)Sn(T)having a purity greater than 85 wt %; and b) at least one di-methyltin compound (Me)Sn(T)having a purity greater than 85 wt %.

Stabilizers containing high purity mono-octyltin compounds

A stabilizer composition having low volatility and high efficiency comprising: (i.) 25.000% to 99.997% by weight of at least one dimethyltin compound of formula (CH)Sn(S(CH)COOR)wherein Ris a linear, branched or cyclic C-Calkyl group and m is 1 or 2, optionally containing unsaturations in the form of double or triple bonds; (ii.) 0.001% to 50.000% by weight of at least one mono-methyltin compound of formula CHSn(S(CH)COOR)wherein Ris a linear, branched or cyclic C-Calkyl group and n is 1 or 2, optionally containing unsaturations in the form of double or triple bonds; (iii.) 0.001% to 10.000% by weight of at least one tri-methyltin compound of formula (CH)Sn(S(CH)COOR) wherein Ris a linear, branched or cyclic C-Calkyl group and p is 1 or 2, optionally containing unsaturations in the form of double or triple bonds; and (iv.) 0.001% to 15.000% by weight of at least one thioester of formula HS(CH)COORwherein Ris a linear, branched or cyclic C-Calkyl group and q is 1 or 2, optionally containing unsaturations in the form of double or triple bonds.

Heat stabilizer for halogen-containing polymers

Bio-based biocide compositions containing epoxidized 2-ethylhexyl soyate and a solvent such as epoxidized soybean oil are disclosed. When incorporated into polymers such as PVC, preserved polymer compositions result. The invention also provides methods for preserving polymers, including incorporating these compositions into PVC in accordance with these methods.

Bio-based biocide compositions and methods of preserving therewith

A flexible compound comprising PVC or its co-polymers; greater than 10 to 200 parts by weight of at least one bio-based primary plasticizer comprising epoxidized fatty acid esters, wherein the fatty acids are derived from natural oils and animal fats, based on 100 parts by weight of PVC or its co-polymers; and 0.001 to 10 parts by weight of a mixed metal stabilizer comprising a zinc compound and at least one metal compound where the metal is selected from Li, Na, K, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Cd, Al, La, Ce or rare earth metals, based on 100 parts by weight of PVC or its co-polymers, wherein an atomic ratio of metal/Zn for the mixed metal stabilizer is less than 1.0.

Flexible PVC compounds having a low metals content

Plasticizer compositions comprising epoxidized fatty acid mono-esters and epoxy-esters are provided. The plasticizer compositions are free of compatibilizer and may contain metal perchlorates and/or phenolic antioxidants and/or conventional plasticizers. The compositions are useful for reduced extraction and lower volatility of halogenated polymers containing the compositions. The plasticizer compositions give reduced extraction of at least 15%. A process for making the plasticizer compositions is also provided. A method of reduced plasticizer extraction from halogenated polymers, such as polyvinyl chloride, is further provided. The plasticizer compositions may be added to PVC resins in effective amounts ranging from 1 and 200 phr.

Bio-based wax compositions contain at least one of the following components: epoxides of non-hydrogenated vegetable oils, epoxides of fatty acid esters. epoxides of tall oil fatty acid esters, chemically modified epoxides of non-hydrogenated vegetable oils, chemically modified epoxides of fatty acid esters, and chemically modified epoxides of tall oil fatty acid esters. The wax compositions can be used to produce candle sticks, container candles and/or composite materials.

A plasticizer composition comprising vicinally diacylated fatty acid esters derived from renewable feedstocks, and a process for the preparation thereof, are disclosed. A composition comprising a halogen-containing polymer and a plasticizer composition comprising the vicinally diacylated fatty acid esters is also described. A method for plasticizing halogen-containing polymers, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins is provided. The plasticizer compositions may be added to PVC resins in amounts ranging between 1 and 200 phr.

Alkyltin sulfanyl diester thiols

A composition containing an epoxide of fatty acid esters, such as epoxidized methyl soyate prepared by alcoholysis of epoxidized triglycerides, suitable for degreasing, paint removal, cleaning and the like is provided herein. The component can be blended with both conventional and soy-based co-solvents and other components such as surfactants and the like.

Alkyltin sulfanyl mercaptocarboxylates having terminal thiol groups

A composition is disclosed that comprises rigid PVC and from about 0.1 to about 10 phr of an EPM copolymer. The compositions optionally also include one or several additives selected from lubricants, impact modifiers, process aids, fusion promoters, heat stabilizers, co-stabilizers, fillers, pigments, antioxidants, UV absorbers, antistats, metal release agents, and plasticizers. The EPM is particularly useful as a PVC gloss reducing agent and additive enhancing agent for such polymer additives, particularly lubricants, heat stabilizers, UV absorbers, and pigments.

Rigid PVC blend composition

Disclosed herein is a method for improving the physical properties of cellulose fiber-containing material/PVC composites comprising adding to said composites an effective amount of at least one compatibilizer comprising an organometallic zirconium compound. The preferred organometallic zirconium compound is cyclo[dineopentyl(diallyl)]pyrophosphato dineopentyl(diallyl)zirconate. Articles of manufacture comprising such composites are also disclosed.
