A device for treating an aneurysm of a human or mammal patient, wherein the aneurysm may self-expand. The device comprising an implantable member adapted to be placed in around an outside of a blood vessel having the aneurysm to enable the implantable member to exercise a pressure on the outside of the blood vessel having the aneurysm. The device further comprising a measuring device or sensor for measuring or sensing an expansion of the aneurysm and a monitoring system adapted to monitor the expansion of the aneurysm based on a signal received from the measuring device or sensor.

Device for treatment of aneurysm

The present invention relates to a method for implanting a device for treating an aneurysm of a patient. The method involves cutting the skin of said patient, dissecting an area of a blood vessel having the aneurysm, placing an implantable member in connection with the outside of the blood vessel having the aneurysm to exercise a pressure on the outside of the blood vessel having the aneurysm and placing a measuring device or sensor in connection in the body of the patient, wherein the measuring device or sensor is configured to measuring or sensing an expansion of the aneurysm.

A surgical instrument for placement of a movement restriction device for use in a surgical procedure for treating reflux disease in a patient. The instrument comprises a sleeve and a holding device configured to engage the movement restriction device, wherein the holding device is configured to be placed within the sleeve and be displaceable in relation to the sleeve. The instrument further comprises a first handling portion connected to the sleeve, and a second handling portion connected to the holding device. The handling of at least one of the first and second handling portion creates relative displacement of the holding device in relation to the sleeve, which disengages the holding device from the movement restriction device for performing the placement of the movement restriction device.

A method of fixating an implantable heart help device in a human patient is provided. The method comprises the steps of: cutting the skin of said human patient, dissecting an area of the body comprising bone, and fixating said implantable heart help device to said part of the body comprising bone.

Method of fixating a heart help device

The present invention relates to an implantable heart help device for assisting the pump function of the heart by exerting an external force on the heart. The device is provided with a first fixating member adapted to be fixate the device to a part of the human body comprising bone, a heart pump device having a surface adapted to contact and exert an external force on the heart, a second fixating member in contact with the heart pump device. The second fixating member is displaceable in relation to the first fixating member for changing the position of the surface of the heart pump device, to allow the surface of the heart pump device to contact and exert the external force on at least two different positions on the heart.

Heart help device, system, and method

A surgical instrument for operating hip joint osteoarthritis in a human patient is provided. The hip joint comprises an acetabulum, being a part of the pelvic bone, and a caput femur, being the proximal part of the femoral bone. An implantable tissue connector comprises a conduit and at least one bulge extending outwardly from the conduit's outer surface in a circumferential direction. At least one blocking ring loosely fitting over the outer surface with a clearance between the outer surface and the blocking ring is provided for mounting tubular living tissue within the clearance. The blocking ring has an inner diameter which is sized relative to an outer diameter of the bulge to prevent the blocking ring from slipping over the bulge when living tissue is mounted within the clearance. During implantation, the conduit is inserted into the tubular part of living tissue and over the bulge. Then, the blocking ring is pushed over the free end of the living tissue against the bulge. The living tissue is secured to the conduit with a self-enhancing effect when the tissue tends to be pulled off of the conduit.

Implantable tissue connector

A biocompatible implant for a method of treating a reflux disease in a patient by preventing the cardia sphincter from sliding through the patient's diaphragm hiatus opening into the patient's thorax, so as to maintain a pressure support from the patient's abdomen that supports the patient's cardia sphincter. The biocompatible implant has a rigid shape, a circumference of at least 15 mm and is configured to be introduced into the patient's abdomen through a trocar, be fully invaginatable in the patient's fundus wall, and function as an implantable movement restricting device preventing the cardia sphincter from sliding through the patient's diaphragm, when implanted.
