A position-measuring device includes a first assembly and a second assembly. The first assembly, installable on a first object, has a profiled element that bears a scale having a first and second measuring graduation. The second assembly, installable on a second object, has a first scanning unit that is movable along a travel path in a measuring direction to scan the first measuring graduation. A position of the first object relative to the second object is therefore measurable. A second scanning unit is mounted on the profiled element so as to enable the second measuring graduation to be scanned, and is positioned in a way that allows the first scanning unit to traverse collision-free along the travel path at a distance spaced apart from the second scanning unit orthogonally to the measuring direction such that a displacement of the scale relative to the first object is measurable.

Position-measuring device

A rotary encoder includes two component groups arranged in a manner allowing rotation relative to each other about an axis, the first component group having a triggering sensor and a plurality of magnetic sensors. The second component group includes a first magnet, a second magnet, and a third magnet. The component groups are configured such that, in response to a full revolution, the magnetic field of the first magnet and of the third magnet are detectable by the magnetic sensors. A trigger signal is able to be generated by the triggering sensor due to the second magnet and the third magnet, while the first magnet does not bring about a triggering of a trigger signal by the trigger sensor.

Rotary encoder and method for operation of a rotary encoder

A rotary encoder includes a first group of components and a second group of components. The first group of components has a pulse wire, a detector, and a circuit configuration. The second group of components has a magnet and a code element. Upon approach of the magnet to the pulse wire, a voltage pulse is able to be generated by the pulse wire. A signal is able to be generated by the detector as a function of the relative position, and based on the signal, a logic circuit is able to ascertain position information which is able to be stored in a non-volatile memory. Triggered by the voltage pulse, a voltage from a voltage source is able to be applied to the circuit configuration. The circuit configuration is disconnectable again from the voltage source at the latest after the storage of the position information in the memory.

Rotary encoder and method for its operation

A composite of at least two flat elements that includes a first support substrate having a first solder pad, and a second support substrate having a second solder pad that is soldered together with the first solder pad. Strip conductor structures are applied to the first support substrate and the second support substrate and a link area that connects a solder shunting area with the first solder pad, wherein the link area is narrower than the first solder pad and the solder shunting area.

The invention relates to a scanning device for a position measuring system for scanning a scale graduation with a probe, which can be brought into operative connection with the scale graduation and is supplied with electric power over electrical connections; an electronic module, which is coupled over electric connections to the probe; a housing for the electronic module for thermally shielding the electronic module from the surroundings; and means for limiting the supply of current to the probe. Pursuant to the invention, the electrical connections, leading to the probe, within the housing of the electronic module, have at least one fuse, which interrupts the flow of current to the probe when the temperature produced as a result of the current flow exceeds a specifiable value. The housing the electronic module forms the housing of the fuse.

Scanning device for a position-measuring system for scanning a scale graduation

A scanning element for a position measuring instrument. The scanning element includes a first scanning track disposed within a first region and a second scanning track disposed adjacent to the first scanning track within a second region. An electromagnetic field generator generates a homogeneous electromagnetic exciting field within the first region and the second region.
