An inlet air heating system for a gas turbine system includes an inlet heat exchanger configured to be positioned upstream of a compressor of the gas turbine system. The inlet air heating system also includes a heating loop fluidly coupled to the inlet heat exchanger. The heating loop is configured to provide heating fluid to the inlet heat exchanger, and the inlet heat exchanger is configured to facilitate transfer of heat from the heating fluid to an airflow into the compressor. Furthermore, the inlet air heating system includes a heat transfer assembly configured to receive cooling tower fluid from a fluid pathway extending between a steam condenser and a cooling tower. The heat transfer assembly is configured to facilitate transfer of heat from the cooling tower fluid to the heating fluid.

Inlet air heating system for a gas turbine system

A gas turbine system includes a gas turbine and a water circuit. The water circuit includes a supply line fluidly coupling the low pressure economizer to a low pressure water supply. A connection line fluidly couples the low pressure evaporator to the low pressure economizer. A bypass supply line extends between the connection line and a heat exchanger. A bypass return line extends from the heat exchanger and includes a first return branch and a second return branch. The first return branch extends to the supply line. The second return branch extends to the connection line. At least one first diverter valve disposed on the bypass return line. The at least one first diverter valve operable to direct the flow of water towards one or both of the supply line and the connection line.

Gas turbine heat recovery system and method

A heating and cooling system for inlet air of a turbine compressor. The heating and cooling system may include a thermal energy storage tank charging loop, a cooling loop in communication with the thermal energy storage charging loop, and a heating loop in communication with the cooling loop and the inlet air of the turbine compressor.

Turbine inlet air heat pump-type system

A heating and cooling system for inlet air of a turbine compressor. The heating and cooling system may include a fluid coil positioned about the turbine compressor and a thermal energy storage tank. The fluid coil and the thermal energy storage tank are in fluid communication such that fluid is both provided to the fluid coil from the thermal energy storage tank for exchanging heat with the inlet air and returned to the thermal energy storage tank without further heat exchange.

Inlet air heating and cooling system

A heating and cooling system for inlet air of a gas turbine engine in a combined cycle power plant having a steam turbine. The heating and cooling system may include a fluid coil positioned about the gas turbine engine, a heat exchanger in communication with the fluid coil, and a condenser in communication with the steam turbine and the heat exchanger such that waste heat from the steam turbine is forwarded to the fluid coil.

Low grade heat recovery system for turbine air inlet

Water intake structures for power plants and other industrial facilities may include an inflow channel, a deep well, an outflow channel, and an intake channel These structures may include a fish screen, such as a wedge-wire screen or the like, positioned between the deep well and the intake channel to separate fish, fish larvae and fish eggs from water supplied to the intake channel from the deep well. These structures may further include one or more circulating or sweep flow pumps positioned proximate an outlet of the outflow channel. The sweep flow pumps may be used to maintain a sweep flow through the deep well of the intake structure to help sweep fish, fish larvae and fish eggs away from the fish screen and into the outflow channel.

Water intake structure

An application and process that incorporates an external heat source to increase the temperature of the airstream entering a compressor section of a combustion turbine. The application and process may perform an anti-icing operation that may not require an Inlet Bleed Heat system (IBH) to operate. Additionally, the application and process may perform an anti-icing operation that may allow for the IGV angle to remain nearly constant. The application and process may increase the output and efficiency of a combustion turbine operating at partload by delaying IBH operation and delaying the closing IGVs.

System and method for changing the efficiency of a combustion turbine

A deep chilled air washer for a gas turbine compressor. The deep chilled air washer may include one or more spray arrays for chilling an inlet air stream and one or more drift eliminators positioned downstream of the spray arrays. The drift eliminators may include a heating element therein so as to reheat the inlet air stream.

An inlet air chilling and filtration system for a turbine. The inlet air chilling and filtration system may include a first stage spray array with a first number of spray nozzle pairs, a second stage spray array with a second number of spray nozzles pairs, and a drift eliminator.
