Eyewear including an eyewear frame with a first strap coupled thereto, and a ponytail holder member coupled to the first strap. The eyewear frame has first and second opposing frame ends. The first strap has opposing first and second strap ends, the first strap end being engaged with the first frame end of the eyewear frame. The ponytail holder member has a main body with an aperture substantially centrally located therein, and a first slot disposed adjacent the aperture. The first slot receives the first strap at the second strap end.

Sports pad for eyewear frames

A sports pad for substantially covering certain exposed areas of an eyewear frame to prevent facial cutting from the hard, rigid eyewear frame. The sports pad is preferably formed of a resilient, flexible elastomeric material. The sports pad is removably coupled to the eyewear frame by stretching the sports pad relative the eyewear frame. Preferably, the sports pad includes a pair of temple cushions and a nose cushion. The sports pad can be constructed to cover either eyewear with frameless lenses, partially frameless lenses, or framed lenses. In some embodiments, substantially the entire front portion of the eyewear is covered by the sports pad, while in other embodiments, only the peripheral edge of the front portion of the eyewear is covered.

A pair of sports eyeglasses having a substantially hard, rigid frame, a pair of soft, resilient strap connector pads, and a headband assembly coupled to the rigid frame by the soft resilient strap connector pads. The soft connector pads provide cushioning at the junction between the rigid frame and the straps to provide a comfortable fit to the user. The frame front is shortened at its ends for use with helmets used in sporting activities or the like. The headband assembly includes a first elastic strap extending between the soft, resilient connector pads, a second strap coupled at its ends to the first strap and extending over the top of the user's head, and a third strap extending between the first and second straps along a rear portion of the wearer's head.

A reinforced eyeglass frame assembly having a frame front and temple members, a pair of hinge members pivotally coupling the temple members to the frame front between open and closed positions, and a pair of reinforcing tubes slidably coupled to the temple members. When the temple members are in their closed positions, the reinforcing tubes are located in their first positions spaced from the hinge members allowing for free pivotal movement of the temple members. When the temple members are pivoted to their open positions, the reinforcing tubes are moved to their second positions surrounding the hinge members and locking them against pivotal movement. The tubes and hinge members are sized so that the tubes frictionally engage a part of the frame front and the hinge members, when in their second positions, to retain the tubes over the hinge members. The reinforcing tubes are preferably formed of a polymeric material, such as polycarbonate, that is stronger and stiffer than the polymeric material forming the frame front and temple members, such as cellulose acetate.

A sports eyewear frame having resilient padding attached to the frame by means of one or more tongues which are attached to the pads, and interlocked in openings provided in the frame. The pads, which can be molded-on or snapped-on, provide the sports frame with lifetime padding under normal wear and tear conditions.
