An observation instrument includes an instrument shaft having a distal end and a proximal end, and an optical arrangement extending at least sectionally through the instrument shaft. The optical arrangement includes at least one optical component that is accommodated in a support shaft. The support shaft is arranged in the instrument shaft in an at least sectionally axially displaceable manner and is preloaded distally.

An optical instrument for capturing stereo images includes two optical devices for producing a real image in each case, two carriages, which are each movable along a predetermined path relative to one of the optical devices, two image sensors, each with a light-sensitive surface for capturing the respective real image, with one of the image sensors in each case being fastened to the carriage, and one reflecting surface in the beam path between the optical device and the image sensor in each case.

A distance of an interface between the mantle component and the front component from an edge between the mantle surface and the curved front surface is no greater than a wall thickness of the mantle component or no greater than a wall thickness of the front component.

A method for assembling a cover glass in an endoscope and an endoscope with a cover glass. To assemble a cover glass in an endoscope, an uncoated cover glass is soldered into an intermediate ring, the cover glass soldered into the intermediate ring is provided with a coating, and the intermediate ring provided with the coated cover glass is joined into a sheath of the optical system of the endoscope.

A valve for medical instruments having a canal configured in a medical instrument and serving as input for at least one additional medical instrument is insulated from a distal-end fluid, whereby the valve housing wherein at least one fluid opening is configured, and positioned in the housing at least one insulating body can be inserted at least partly into the canal. The invention has at least one fluid opening configured in the valve housing by which the fluid can be conducted to the outside of the insulating body such that the fluid opening is so configured that the distal-side fluid can be guided out of the canal to the outside of the insulating body in such a way that the distal-side fluid reshapes the insulating body inward, insulating it, to be essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the insulating body.

A method for filling a hollow space in an autoclavable medical instrument with an adhesive containing a filler has the steps of providing an adhesive with a low viscosity allowing the adhesive to enter into a hollow space in a medical instrument, providing a filler of solid particles within said low viscosity adhesive, density of said solid particles differ from a density of said low viscosity adhesive, filling that hollow space in said medical instrument with that low viscosity adhesive containing said solid particles, allowing said particles a period of time for crowding together into a minimum of space, and curing said adhesive after said period of time.

An endoscope having a viewing direction which can be pivoted relative to the endoscope includes an illumination beam path for transmitting illumination light and a plurality of reflective surfaces for reflecting illumination light, the reflective surfaces being arranged at least partially next to one another in the illumination beam path relative to the intended light propagation direction of illumination light in the illumination beam path.
