An ultra light, noise reducing composite () comprises an acoustically transparent, light weight film () between an underlay layer () and an air flow resistance layer (). This composite allows to easily tune the acoustic properties by balancing the absorption and sound transmission behaviour of the composite (). This air flow resistance layer () has an air flow resistance of between 500 Ns/m3 and 10,000 Ns/m3 and an area mass between 200 g/m2 and 3,000 g/m2. The underlay layer () has a stiffness value in the range between 100 Pa and 100,000 Pa. The light weight film () may consist of a synthetic foil and preferably has a thickness of 0.01 mm.

Ultralight trim composite

The invention relates to a covering part with cable channels and a cabled covering part such as a carpet for vehicles, which is provided with several self-closing channels acommodating a cable network. These channels can be formed directly into the spring-elastic part of the covering or can comprise a plastic or foam rubber sleeve slotted on their longitudinal side and lying in the covering part. The inexpensive and simple to manufacture covering part permits an exact leading of the cables, a good protection for the cable network and a simple and quick application and exchange of the cables. The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing such a covering part.

Cabled covering part, a method for manufacturing such and means therefor

A composite structure with sound-insulating and sound-damping effects for use on the interior surfaces of motor vehicles, comprising at least two groups of coatings resting loosely on one another. In particular, the first group consists of a bottom part (2) free to vibrate and provided with coatings (6) or a finish like that used in modern motor vehicle construction. Preferably the applied second group of coatings consists of an insulating coating (8, 9). This insulating coating can be provided with an additional protective layer (7) and/or a textile or textile-like decorative layer (5). According to the invention, insulating coating (8, 9) exhibits anisotropic air flow resistance. This is achieved in simple fashion by a carrier layer (9) with a geometric structure and a plurality of support 15 elements (13). These support elements (13) are formed essentially of narrow ribs and are arranged to form a complex cavity labyrinth in conjunction with the first group of coatings and thus permit lateral air flow with low flow resistance.
