There is disclosed a distraction system. In an embodiment, a distraction system includes a table mount having a configuration for attachment to side rails of a surgical table. A patient support is provided in connection with the table mount and supports buttocks of a patient. An adjustable perineal post is provided in an adjustable connection with the patient support. A leg mount is in connection with the table mount, and has a configuration for supporting one or more leg support assemblies. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A limb holder comprising: a mounting bracket for attachment to a surgical table; a mounting element comprising a spheroidal surface for attachment to said mounting bracket; a clamping assembly for providing a clamping engagement about said spheroidal surface of said mounting element, said clamping assembly comprising an upper jaw and a lower jaw, wherein said upper jaw and said lower jaw are biased towards one another so as to provide said clamping engagement about said sphereoidal surface of said mounting element; a limb support element mounted to said clamping assembly via a support rod; a release mechanism mounted to said support rod and connected to said clamping assembly for selectively releasing said clamping engagement of said clamping assembly about said sphereoidal surface of said mounting element, whereby to allow said limb support element to be repositioned relative to said mounting element and hence repositioned relative to the surgical table; and a locking gas cylinder having a first end and a second end, said second end being biased away from said first end, wherein said first end of said locking gas cylinder is mounted to said mounting bracket and said second end of said locking gas cylinder is mounted to said support rod, whereby to bias said support rod away from said mounting bracket, and further wherein said second end is selectively lockable relative to said first end.

Surgical table post clamp

A clamp for securing a surgical appliance post to a rail mounted on the side of a surgical table which clamp may be placed over and on the rail at any desired location by providing the clamp body with a passageway transverse the body of the clamp and parallel to the rail, the passageway having a lip on one edge of a width about the dimension of the rail for engaging the backside of the rail, and the passageway having a width greater than the rail on the opposite edge. A clamping device such as a screw or cam is mounted on the outermost portion of the clamp and is arranged to engage and secure the post as well as bind the clamp body to the rail. Additionally, the clamping arrangement of one of the preferred embodiments provides a means by which an appliance post may be gripped at any chosen angle rather than limited to a fixed orientation.

An adjustable position limb support for surgical tables consisting of a limb support arm, a limb cradle attached to the support arm and an orientation control device such as a movable handle located at the distal end of the support arm. The proximate end of the support arm engages a pivot assembly which has one section providing for rotational movement in the lithotomy direction; and a second section providing for rotational movement in the perpendicular abduction direction. Each section has a locking mechanism which is independently secured and released to position the arm as desired. One locking mechanism is operated by the rotation of the support arm and the other by an extendable and retractable linkage activated by the control device.

An adjustable position shoulder arthroscopy chair for surgical operating tables consisting of a back supporting platform pivotally attachable to the end of the table and an externally powered position actuator mounted at the base of the platform nearest the table and pivotally mounted to the platform at a location spaced apart from the base. The actuator is extendable and retractable and may be powered either electrically, hydraulically, or by compressed air. The extension and retraction of the actuator is controlled by a suitable device within the actuator or remote from it.

An adjustable position limb support for surgical tables consisting of a support arm pivotally mounted at one end to a base which is attachable to the table and an externally powered position actuator pivotally mounted to the support arm and the base at positions spaced apart from the support arm pivot. The actuator is extendable and retractable and may be powered either electrically, hydraulically, or by compressed air. The actuator is controlled by a suitable device within the actuator or remote from it and an appropriate appliance for holding the limb is provided on the support arm.

A holder for positioning and immobilizing a leg for surgical procedures on an operating table having a pair of opposed curved leg holding members each mounted on a base slidably and rotatably mounted on a rod adapted to be horizontally mounted in relation to the table. Each base and leg holder is secured in a desired position by a clamp mechanism and the device includes a length of flexible cushioned tubing which fits over and between the leg holding members to provide a unified leg support surface.
