The present invention relates tosequences comprising early stage seed-specific and endosperm-preferential promoter activity. Provided are recombinant genes comprising the early stage seed-specific and endosperm-preferential promoter operably linked to a heterologous nucleic acid sequence, and cells, plants and seeds comprising the recombinant gene.
