Apparatus and methods for controlling the flow of a pulp suspension from a container in which the pulp is processed or stored are disclosed. The container is pressurized to a first pressure and includes an outlet for the pulp suspension, a pump includes an inlet and an outlet, and the pump inlet is connected to the container. The pulp suspension is fed from the inlet to the outlet of the pump and provides a controlled decrease in pressure to which the pulp suspension is subjected in the pump during such transport, and the flow from the container is controlled by adjusting this controlled decrease in pressure.

Method and an apparatus for controlling a flow of pulp suspension

A device for feeding cellulose-containing pulp from a dewatering unit, the dewatered pulp being discharged via an outlet included in the dewatering unit to a reception means positioned below the outlet, whereupon the pulp is transported to a stand pipe via an inlet included in the stand pipe, in which stand pipe the pulp falls freely under the influence of gravity, the reception means being positioned at a higher level than the inlet of the stand pipe. At least one feeding down surface is arranged which extends from the reception means to the inlet of the stand pipe, and the transport of the pulp between the reception means and the inlet of the stand pipe is effected by feeding the pulp downwards along this feeding down surface under the influence of gravity, the pulp being diluted during the feeding of the pulp downwards.

Method and a device for feeding pulp from a dewatering unit

A fluid transfer apparatus for bulk material is disclosed. The transfer apparatus includes a rotor mounted on a rotatable shaft and including axially extending flow channels extending through the rotor parallel to the shaft, flow connectors for connecting a low-pressure flow of fluid and a high-pressure flow of fluid into and out of the axially extending flow channels, a casing enclosing the rotor, a pair of axially sealing plates disposed between the ends of the rotor and the casing, a pressurizing fluid fed into the chamber defined by the casing to pressurize the rotor, the flow connectors, and the axially movable sealing plates.

Feeder

Apparatus for mixing a chemical medium with a pulp suspension is disclosed, comprising a housing, a first feeder for feeding the pulp suspension to a mixing chamber, a rotor body connected to a rotor shaft to supply kinetic energy to the pulp suspension flow, such that turbulence is produced in a turbulent flow zone in the mixing chamber, a second feeder for feeding the chemical medium to the mixing chamber, and a flow-restraining disk in the outlet from the mixing chamber with flow passages arranged to temporarily increase the flow velocity of the pulp suspension, the second feeder comprising a chemical distribution element integrated with the rotor body to distribute the chemical medium close to the turbulent flow zone, and the rotor body comprising a number of rotor pins which extend from the rotor shaft.

Apparatus for mixing a chemical medium with a pulp suspension

The present invention relates to an apparatus for mixing of a chemical medium in gaseous or liquid state with a pulp suspension. The apparatus comprises a housing having a wall () that defines a mixing chamber (), a first feeder () for feeding the pulp suspension to the mixing chamber, a rotor shaft (), that extends in the mixing chamber, a drive device for rotation of the rotor shaft, a rotor body (), that is connected to the rotor shaft and arranged to supply kinetic energy to the pulp suspension flow, during rotation of the rotor shaft by the rotation of the drive device, such that turbulence is produced in a turbulent flow zone () in the mixing chamber, a second feeder () for feeding of the chemical medium to the mixing chamber, and an outlet for discharging the mixture of chemical medium and pulp suspension from the mixing chamber.

Apparatus for mixing a fluid with a flowing material is disclosed including a chamber having an inlet for connection to a circular inlet conduit and an outlet for connection to a circular outlet conduit, and a supply conduit for supplying the fluid to the chamber, the inlet having a cross-section which is substantially circular at one end and which continuously transforms to a substantially elongated cross-section at the other end, and the outlet has a cross-section which is substantially circular at one end and which continuously transforms to a substantially elongated cross-section at the other end, and the supply conduit is located between the inlet and the outlet.

Mixing device

Apparatus for pumping a pulp suspension and simultaneous abduction of gas from the suspension is disclosed. The apparatus comprises at least one pulp pump including a pump housing with an inlet, a first outlet for the suspension, and a second outlet for the gas. The gas outlet is connected to at least one external vacuum pump by a gas conduit including a substantially vertical portion having a maximum height, located on a level above the pulp pump, and a flushing water supply for the supply of flushing water to the gas conduit connected above the substantially vertical portion of the gas conduit.

Pumping device

Centrifugal pumps are disclosed for pumping a pulp suspension including a housing, a rotary shaft mounted within the housing, an impeller including a hub and blades, a wheel disk mounting the blades and including openings for discharging gas generated in the pump, vacuum blades mounted on the hub behind the wheel disk, a vacuum housing enclosing the vacuum blades, the vacuum housing including an outer cylindrical wall which is radially displaced and eccentrically disposed with respect to the vacuum blades, the vacuum housing including a front wall and a rear wall separated from the vacuum blades by a gap, the rear wall being axially adjustable so that the gap between the vacuum blades and the rear wall can be adjusted to adjust the vacuum generated thereby, and a passageway for communication between the openings in the wheel disk and the suction opening.

Pulp pump

Apparatus is disclosed for pumping a pulp suspension including a housing and an impeller including a central hub, a wheel disk surrounding the central hub, and pump blades extending radially from the central hub along the wheel disk, which includes at least one opening for discharge of an entrained gas from the pump suspension, a vacuum pump at the rear face of the impeller, and vacuum pump blades mounted for rotation within the vacuum pump housing, which includes an outer wall which is eccentrically disposed with respect to the vacuum pump blade, and a rear wall which includes a suction port for receiving the entrained gas, and with the vacuum pump housing mounted adjacent to the central hub to provide a gap therebetween, so that vacuum pump housing is axially adjustable so that the gap can be altered by axial adjustment of the vacuum pump housing.
