Controlling message handling in a mobile communication terminal. A message creation procedure is initiated followed by assigning a destination address to a message. Message content for the message is recorded and subsequent to the assignment of the destination address, a message received from an originating address is recognized. The originating address of the received message is compared with the destination address of the message being recorded. In a case where the comparison results in that the originating address is equal to the destination address the received message is displayed.

Messaging in a mobile communication terminal

A method including detecting a time and day that communications are made to a contact, recording the time and day communications are made for a respective communication type and presenting the contact information to a user depending on the use pattern of the contact information and the time and day communications are placed for the respective communication type.

Intelligent phone book

A mobile telephone includes a reminder controller. A reminder can be entered either using the phone or using a remote terminal. Each reminder is associated with an event being the start of a particular application, or an event being an identifier in a software application becoming a preset value. The phone operates to detect an application start event, following which it is determined whether a parameter associated with the reminder matches a parameter associated with the application, and announces the reminder as appropriate. In this way, enhanced functionality is provided with the phone, since it is possible to set a reminder to be associated with an event other than the reaching of a particular time and date.

Reminder handling

The present invention relates to methods, apparatuses, computer program products, and systems for handling an audio messaging service (AMS) chat session. A method according to an example embodiment includes receiving a first AMS chat request, causing a second AMS chat request that is associated with an existing AMS chat session to be transmitted, and receiving an AMS chat answer in response to the second AMS chat request, the AMS chat request being configured to allow a mobile communication terminal to enter the existing AMS chat session.

Mobile communication terminal and method

A mobile telephone terminal provides a user with a selectable option to transfer a telephone call to an instant messaging session and to transfer an instant messaging session to a telephone call. A presence attribute indicator for a first party is displayed with an entry associated with the telephone number of the first party. A user has a selectable option for initiating instant messaging with the party. The mobile telephone provides a customized menu of selectable options for initiating communication. The menu is dependent upon received presence attribute information. A calendar application can store the content of an instant messaging dialog in an appointment record. When an application accesses a stored telephone number of a party the stored instant messaging address of that party is automatically accessed and when the application accesses a stored instant messaging address of a party, the stored telephone number of that party is automatically accessed.

Method and apparatus initiating instant messaging

A user is prevented from accidentally activating a mobile telephone (). By detecting a change of state of motion of the telephone, followed by determining an absence of user-induced activity in the telephone and, depending on the detected change of state of motion and depending on the determined absence of user-induced activity, an input means-lock function in the telephone is activated.

Movement activated key guard

A broadcast radio event such as a song or a concert promotion, and a plurality of radio data fields corresponding to the event such as RTplus information, are received at a device. A user selects to display broadcast radio options simultaneous with receiving the broadcast radio event. In various embodiments, each time a new set of radio data fields are received, the set of displayed options is updated, with certain provisions to 'freeze' the displayed set of options. Exemplary embodiments of the invention provide in an exemplary aspect thereof a method that includes storing data descriptive of a plurality of alarm sounds received from at least one source of alarm sounds, the stored data forming a set of alarm sounds; selecting an alarm sound from the set of alarm sounds; and playing the selected alarm sound at a predetermined time, where the selected alarm sound is one corresponding to data that was most recently stored. In another exemplary aspect of the invention a method includes, in response to a user input, enabling an alarm function and recording a current time of day; monitoring the time of day and activating the alarm function when the time of day is equal to a predetermined time of day; and making an alarm sound audible, where the alarm sound is selected from a set of alarm sounds based at least in part on a difference in time between the recorded time of day and the predetermined time of day.

Provided are apparatuses and methods in a digital broadcast transmission system for receiving, processing and rendering transmitted content. A digital receiver capable of receiving and rendering both DVB-H and DVB-T signals may include a coupling means for connecting to another terminal for receiving program data or parameters. The digital receiver may reconfigure one or more components in order to handle the differing signal types. Such a receiver system allows a user to move seamlessly from a mobile device to a stationary device without significant effort and time. The receiver may further use transmission streams of varying priority to enhance and otherwise modify the displayed content according to a user's selection. Users with small display screens or poor eyesight may benefit from such enhancements features.

Provided is an apparatus that includes a processing unit configured to monitor a quality of user performance in selecting one or more selectable items that are presented on a display.
