A mother board retaining bracket is mounted to an outer circuit board housing and supports an edge of a mother board. The mother board retaining bracket prevents the mother board from moving, e.g., during transportation, and prevents the associated failure of the computer system. The computer system further includes single and double locker belt retaining brackets. The single locker belt retaining bracket extends across a retaining clip on one side of a circuit board and locks the retaining clip in place. The double locker belt retaining bracket extends across retaining clips on both sides of a circuit board and locks the retaining clips in place. In this manner, the single and double locker belt retaining brackets prevent the retaining clips from becoming shook loose.

The present invention is related to a Compact Peripheral Component Interconnect (cPCI) front panel assembly that is adapted to keep its corresponding cPCI front card's printed circuit board from bending. The cPCI front panel assembly should make its corresponding printed circuit board stronger to prevent circuit board damage and to maintain the cPCI front card envelope standard even before the card is inserted into the card slot. The front panel assembly should be stronger than its corresponding cPCI front card's circuit board. The front panel couples its stronger strength with its weaker circuit board. In addition, the front panel assembly prevents the bending of its corresponding circuit board at the upper, middle, and lower portions. The present invention provides the important advantage of protecting the cPCI front card even before the card is inserted into a card cage.

An apparatus for containing electromagnetic interference (EMI). The apparatus includes an enclosure for an EMI producing component. The enclosure has a set of springable tabs extending from a top edge of the enclosure and a set of pins extending from a bottom edge of the enclosure. The pins are placed through a grounding ring and a printed circuit board to align and ground the enclosure. The tabs contact a heatsink disposed over the enclosure.

Apparatus for containing electromagnetic interference

A Compact Personal Computer Interface (CPCI) microprocessor board installation device is disclosed herein. A preferred aspect comprises an inner surface defined by a top plane, a bottom plane, a back plane, and at least one side plane, where the inner surface has means disposed therein for accepting, aligning, and releasably engaging a CPCI board, with a device according to the present invention, an installer may insert a CPCI board into the present invention, and install the board into a back plane while being assured that the board is protected from both physical and ESD damage. After successfully installing the CPCI board, the installer may then release the present invention from the board, and reuse the present invention on another installation.

A fan shroud includes a faceplate having slots. Spacer panels and a top plate extend from the faceplate. Hook-like locking features extend from the spacer panels and locking flanges extend from the top plate. To secure a fan in place, the fan shroud is mounted to a rack of a computer system using the hook-like locking features and the locking flanges. The faceplate of the fan shroud is adjacent to and secures the fan in place.

A heat sink structure includes a heat emitting component, an inner heat sink in thermal contact with the heat emitting component, a cabinet of a computer system in thermal contact with the inner heat sink, and an outer heat sink in thermal contact with the cabinet. The cabinet defines an outer region outside of the computer system and an inner region inside of the computer system. Generally, the outer region is cooler than the inner region. Advantageously, since the outer heat sink is located in the outer region, the outer heat sink is relatively cool compared to the heat emitting component. This drives heat from the heat emitting component through the inner heat sink and the cabinet to the outer heat sink, which dissipates this heat to the outer region outside of the computer system.
