The invention provides a cleansing composition, which comprises in addition to water, (a) from 10 to 30% by weight of one or more C.sub.6 to C.sub.16 acyl lactylates and (b) from 5 to 25% by weight of one or more co-surfactants, such as acyl taurates, isethionates, sarcosinates and sulphosuccinates. The cleansing compositions are primarily intended to be used as personal washing products, such as facial wash foams, bath foams and hair shampoos.

The present invention relates to oral compositions such as dentifrices or mouthwashes. By inclusion therein of a shorter chain mono- and dialkylphosphate as surfactant, a mild product is obtained which also has improved anti-caries properties. Preferred are sodium mono- and di-octyl phosphates for use in these compositions.

Oral composition

The invention relates to oral compositions for combating dental caries. The compositions comprise a fluorine-containing anti-caries agent such as sodium fluoride or sodium monofluorophosphate and a particulate hydroxyapatite as abrasive. These ingredients are surprisingly compatible in that there is a reduced loss of available fluoride upon storage.

Oral compositions

The present invention relates to oral compositions for treating sensitive teeth. These compositions comprise an agent for desensitizing sensitive teeth, such as potassium nitrate of strontium acetate, and a particulate abrasive material which is hydroxyapatite. The hydroxyapatite is compatible with the desensitizing agent.

The present invention relates to oral preparations having anti-caries activity. The compositions comprise a water-soluble casein material or sodium trimetaphosphate as an anti-caries agent, and a particulate hydroxyapatite as a compatible abrasive material.

Peracid bleach-stable perfume compositions comprise components which do not contain alkenyl or alkynyl groups and have a PSV of at least about 65% selected from: saturated alcohols, esters, aromatic ketones, lactones, nitriles, ethers, acetals, phenols, hydrocarbons and aromatic nitromusks and mixtures thereof. The perfume compositions are used in bleach and/or detergent compositions containing a peracid bleach.

The soil release properties of condensation products of dicarboxylic acids, polyoxyethylene glycols, and a cycloaliphatic lactam or aliphatic diamine or salts thereof with a dicarboxylic acid are particularly good on polyamide material when used in combination with specific ethoxylated alkyl phenols, ethoxylated alcohols or monoethanolamides.
