A method, system, and computer program product to provide a synthetic device ID for a device is provided herein. The method includes receiving a request from the device to obtain a service from a vendor, where the device is associated with an internal device ID. The method further includes generating the synthetic device ID for the device and associating the device, the internal device ID, the vendor, and the synthetic device ID. The method also includes transmitting the synthetic device ID to the vendor, and internally tracking the request based on the association.

The present disclosure describes a point-to-multipoint communication system having a service provider system and one or more subscriber devices. The one or more subscriber devices include multiple physical layer (PHY) devices that can be used for upstream direction and/or downstream direction transfer of information to and/or from the service provider system. The one or more subscriber devices receive subscriber device configuration information from the service provider system indicating which of these multiple PHY devices are to be used for the upstream direction and/or the downstream direction transfer of the information to and/or from the service provider system. In some situations, the subscriber device configuration information identifies various types of information, such as video, audio, and/or data to provide some examples, to be transferred in the upstream direction and/or the downstream direction and/or one or more PHY devices to be used for transferring the various types of information.

The present disclosure describes a communication environment having a service provider server that receives an audio command from a display control device within the communication environment. The service provider server can translate this audio command into an electrical command for controlling the display device. The service provider server autonomously performs a specifically tailored search of a catalog of command words and/or phrases for the audio command to translate the audio command to the electrical command. This specifically tailored search can include one or more searching routines having various degrees of complexity. The most simplistic searching routine from among these searching routines represents a textual search to identify one or more command words and/or phrases from the catalog of command words and/or phrases that match the audio command. The one or more searching routines can include more complex searching routines, such as a keyword search and/or a natural language search, of the catalog of command words and/or phrases to identify one or more command words and/or phrases from the catalog of command words and/or phrases that match the audio command.

The present disclosure describes an autonomous mechanism for implementing a flexible image repository that includes an image retrieval service and an image repository management application. The flexible image repository performs delta processing to provide a subset of stored images to a subscriber device when the image retrieval service receives an image update request. The subscriber device thus receives updates to the image repository in a manner that reduces bandwidth requirements at both the server and the client, allowing client-side images to be updated more frequently. A content manager may update the flexible image repository via the image repository management application, which tags images according to a naming convention prior to inserting the images in the image repository. The tags allowing the image retrieval service to serve a multitude of subscriber devices across disparate platforms, which may provide different interfaces and have disparate access requirements, API calls, or functional behaviors. The flexible image repository employs a caching layer to further optimize the retrieval and display of the images and further optimize the delta processing.

For example, the method may include searching a plurality of channels to locate a message on an active channel for the device, the message being transmitted on each of the plurality of channels; in response to locating the message, analyzing the message to determine a second channel from among the plurality of channels for downloading the operating data for the device, the second channel being different than the first channel; in response to determining the second channel, tuning the device to the second channel; downloading, via the second channel, the operating data for the device; and installing the operating data on the device.

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for real-time enablement of over-the-top media service applications. An embodiment operates by receiving a device identifier from a customer device including a disabled third-party over-the-top (OTT) application, determining a verification status of the customer device based on the device identifier, determining a customer identifier associated with the customer device, and determining an entitlement status based on the customer identifier. The embodiment further operates by assigning a vendor-issued identifier to the customer identifier, generating a third-party token based on the verification status and the entitlement status, and sending the third-party token to the customer device and a third-party service associated with the disabled third-party OTT application. In some embodiments, the customer device and the third-party service may perform a handshake using the third-party token to enable the disabled OTT third-party application on the customer device.
