A flexible arm that is configured to be located between and physically and electrically connect an acoustic module of an open-ear headphone to a battery housing of the open-ear headphone. The flexible arm includes a flexible printed circuit that extends through the entire original resting length of the flexible arm and comprises a conductor that is configured to carry electrical energy between the acoustic module and the battery housing. A first interface structure is coupled to one of the acoustic module and the battery housing. At least one link member is pivotably coupled to the first interface structure. A flexible material encases at least some of the flexible printed circuit, at least some of the at least one link member, and at least some of the first interface structure.

Open-ear headphone

A loudspeaker system includes a subwoofer. The subwoofer includes a housing having a plurality of walls which together define an acoustic cavity. The plurality of walls includes a front wall, a rear wall, a top wall, a bottom wall, and a plurality of sidewalls extending between the top and bottom walls and between the front and rear walls. A first transducer mounted to the front wall of the housing. The first transducer includes a diaphragm having a major axis and a minor axis. The major axis has a fist end proximate the bottom wall and an opposite, second end proximate the top wall, such that the major axis is arranged vertical, relative to ground when the subwoofer is rested on its bottom wall. The top wall has a handle such that the loudspeaker can be carried with the major axis arranged vertical to ground.

Portable loudspeaker systems

A loudspeaker system includes a line array assembly and a base for supporting the line array assembly. The line array assembly includes a plurality of electro-acoustic transducers arranged along a vertical axis and the base houses electronics for powering the line array assembly. The base and the line array assembly together define a flow path to facilitate a convective air flow to pass between the base and the line array assembly for cooling the electronics.

Loudspeaker system cooling

A loudspeaker includes a housing that has a plurality of walls, which together define an acoustic cavity. An electro-acoustic transducer is mounted to a front wall of the housing, and a motion axis of the electro-acoustic transducer is offset from a centroid of the front wall. The loudspeaker is configured to be stacked with an other loudspeaker of identical construction in a first configuration such that the stacked loudspeakers radiate acoustic energy to produce an omnidirectional radiation pattern; and in a second configuration such that the stacked loudspeakers radiate acoustic energy to produce a cardioid radiation pattern. The loudspeaker includes keyed features which do not interlock and thereby inhibit stacking when the loudspeaker is in a first orientation relative to the other loudspeaker, and which interlock to allow stacking when the loudspeaker is in a second orientation relative to the other loudspeaker.

Stackable loudspeakers

A line array loudspeaker includes a first plurality of flexible joints, a first plurality of electro-acoustic drivers being linked to each other by the first plurality of flexible joints, and a first sectional horn assembly coupled to the first plurality of electro-acoustic drivers. The first plurality of electro-acoustic drivers is adjustable so that it can be positioned such that an axis that runs through an acoustic center of the first plurality of electro-acoustic drivers is articulable to produce three or more configurations including: a substantially straight configuration and a plurality of arcuate configurations.

Curvable line array

A line array loudspeaker has a first group of acoustic drivers comprising a first plurality of acoustic drivers each comprising an axis, the first plurality of acoustic drivers arranged so that their axes are parallel. There is a second plurality of acoustic drivers each comprising an axis, the second plurality of acoustic drivers arranged so that their axes are parallel. The first and second plurality of acoustic drivers are arranged such that a projection onto an azimuth plane of the axes of the first plurality of acoustic drivers intersects with a projection onto the azimuth plane of the axes of the second plurality of acoustic drivers at a first, fixed articulation angle. There is a second group of acoustic drivers that is adjacent to the first group. The second group comprises a third plurality of acoustic drivers each comprising an axis. The drivers of the second group are arranged such that a projection onto the azimuth plane of the axes of the third plurality of acoustic drivers intersect at varied articulation angles.

Line array loudspeaker

A cable assembly configured to electrically connect an active loudspeaker to a source device that comprises a source of electrical power and audio signals. The cable assembly includes a primary sheath, a group of power conductors within the primary sheath and configured to carry electrical power, a group of audio signal conductors within the primary sheath and configured to carry audio signals, a cable-mount connector male plug comprising a first plurality of power pins that terminate a first end of each power conductor and a second plurality of audio signal pins that terminate a first end of each audio signal conductor, wherein the cable-mount connector plug is configured to be coupled to a panel mount connector female socket of the source device, and a cable-mount connector female socket comprising a first plurality of power receptacles that terminate a second end of each power conductor and a second plurality of audio signal receptacles that terminate a second end of each audio signal conductor, wherein the cable-mount connector socket is configured to be coupled to a panel mount connector male plug of the active loudspeaker.

Active loudspeaker and cable assembly

A device for securing an object to a ceiling includes a threaded rod, a bracket and a spring-loaded tab. The spring-loaded tab has a tab portion with an outer surface. The tab portion is rotatable about an axis perpendicular to the threaded rod. When the device is attached to the object and the object moves into an opening in the ceiling for installation to the ceiling, the tab portion is urged from an extended position to enable the object to pass through the opening. Subsequently, the tab portion returns to its extended position such that the object can be temporarily supported by the tab within the ceiling opening. The bracket is configured so that during a removal process, a portion of the bracket urges the tab portion inward from the extended position to enable the object to be removed from the ceiling opening.

Device for installation and removal of a ceiling speaker system

A directional acoustic device with an acoustic source or an acoustic receiver and a conduit to which the acoustic source or acoustic receiver is acoustically coupled and within which acoustic energy travels in a propagation direction from the acoustic source or to the acoustic receiver. The conduit has a radiating portion that has a radiating surface with leak openings that define controlled leaks through which acoustic energy radiated from the source into the conduit can leak to the outside environment or through which acoustic energy in the outside environment can leak into the conduit. The radiating surface has a thin sheet with openings through the sheet, and a cover material with a greater acoustic resistance than an acoustic resistance of an opening. The cover material covers at least parts of at least some of the openings, to define controlled acoustic leaks into or out of the conduit.

Directional acoustic device and method of manufacturing a directional acoustic device

A loudspeaker system includes a first flexible panel, a first line array of electro-acoustic drivers, and at least one mechanically adjustable point. The first line array of electro-acoustic drivers are mounted on the first flexible panel and linked to each other by flexible joints in the first flexible panel. The at least one mechanically adjustable point enables articulation of the first flexible panel at the flexible joints to produce one or more of a substantially straight and an arcuate configuration of the first line array of electro-acoustic drivers.

Speaker

A modular horn type loudspeaker and a modular horn array formed of modular loudspeakers. An acoustic horn includes a first acoustic module. The first acoustic module includes a first acoustic driver and a first acoustic duct, for conducting acoustic energy from the first acoustic driver. The first acoustic duct has a first opening through which acoustic energy is radiated. The first acoustic duct is characterized by a first centerline. A second acoustic module includes a second acoustic driver and a second acoustic duct, for conducting acoustic energy from the acoustic driver. The second acoustic duct has a second opening through which acoustic energy is radiated. The second acoustic duct is characterized by a second centerline.
