A polarized lens formed by an injection/coining injection molding process is disclosed. The polarized lens includes a polarizing insert formed from a polarizer sandwiched between two layers of cellulosic material. The polarizing insert is surrounded by high-impact polymer formed by a two-step injection/coining process of injection molding that results in minimal stress in the lens.

An exemplary waterproofing membrane comprises a carrier layer having a non-bituminous pressure-sensitive waterproofing adhesive, a protective layer coated on the non-bituminous adhesive, and a second waterproofing adhesive layer on the other face of the carrier to permit adherence of the membrane to a cementious surface and to permit concrete to be cast against the non-bituminous layer and protective coating and to be bonded thereto when cured. Further exemplary membranes comprise a dusted layer on the protective coating to permit foot traffic. The membranes of the invention are useful in so-called horizontal and vertical lagging installations. Methods for waterproofing between cementious surfaces, in tunnels, and on concrete decks are also disclosed.

Waterproofing membranes are disclosed comprising a shrinkable polymer film bonded to a foil layer by a layer of thermoplastic adhesive having sufficient bonding strength below the shrinkage onset temperature of the polymer film to inhibit relative movement between the film and the foil and having sufficient plasticity above the shrinkage onset temperature of the polymer film to permit relative movement between the film and the foil. In a preferred embodiment, the membrane is made self adhesive by including a layer of an adhesive material on that surface of the foil opposite the layer of the thermoplastic adhesive.
