A motion nut for a lifting device, especially a car jack, in which a basic body has an internal thread and a threaded spindle is seated in the internal thread. The basic body together with the internal thread is a single unit component formed of at least two separate material components of different materials. The two separate material components form an internal thread region part and an external part, so that properties of the internal thread region is selectable different from properties of the external part. The properties of the thread being selectable for reduced friction and the properties of the external part being selectable for increased strength and stiffness.

A vehicle jack with an upright assembly and an arm articulated thereto around a fixed horizontal axis. The free end of the arm bends toward the vehicle and is directly or indirectly raised away from and lowered toward the ground by a spindle. To simplify obtaining an angle in the arm, the main section of the arm is straight and an angled section is form fit onto its free end.

Vehicle jack

Pivot for articulating the load-bearing components of a jack. The pivot comprises a shaft that rotates in a bore. The components are lengths of U section or have lateral flanges or upright edges that overlap in the vicinity of the pivot. The object is to decrease the weight of the jack. Instead of a solid bolt, the axis is a hollow neck (19) stamped through the sides (15 & 17) or flanges (13) of one component and extending through the bore (18) in its counterpart.

Pivot for articulating the load-bearing components of a jack

Jack with an upright (1) that rests on a base (8 or 19). An arm (3) that pivots around a horizontal axis (r) on the upright. The arm has a load accommodation (4) on its free end and engaging the bottom of the vehicle. The arm can be pivoted to various levels directly or by way of levers and transmissions attached to it and to the upright by a manually controlled mechanism, specifically a threaded shaft (5). A brace (15) is attached to the upright and rests flat against the ground or floor (11) at the end of the base facing away from the vehicle while the jack is in the initial-introduction position. The brace is a tab rigidly attached to the upright (1).

Vehicle lift

A jack with a foot resting on the ground and with a supporting plate that rises away from the foot, lifts the vehicle, and pivots around one or more articulations on a supporting component around an axis paralleling the length of the vehicle. The object is to make it possible to compensate for tilting along the vehicle without causing unilateral stress that could damage the bottom of the vehicle with local pressure. The jack accordingly has at least one support (17) on or between the articulations (15 and 16) and between the supporting plate (8) and the supporting component (3), and the articulations allow a limited pitch paralleling the length of the vehicle on the part of the plate.

A jack (1) has a flat base (2) attached to a support (3) at the top by a lever-operated mechanism. The mechanism is activated by a threaded shaft (5) and nut (6). The nut has a coaxial gudgeon (10 & 11) on each side. The gudgeons extend across the axis (22) of an interior-threaded section. The nut consists of two halves (13 & 14). The halves fit together at a flat interface (15). The interface parallels both the axis (21) of the gudgeons and the axis (22) of the threaded section (23).

Jack

The invention concerns a jack (10) with at least one leg (12) and an arm (16) that is connected to it, that can move up and down with its position varied by an adjusting mechanism (26), and that has a supporting plate (40) at its outer and free end that pivots on a horizontal shaft (52) on the arm. The supporting plate is secured to the shaft by at least one eye (50) that is stamped out of the supporting-plate component, whereby the ends of the eyes are in one piece with components of the supporting plate.
