A dry powder inhaler with a blister folding device can include a housing to receive a single blister containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, and a mouthpiece through which a dose of medicament is inhaled by a user and a blister opening device. The blister opening device can include a blister support element for supporting a blister containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, and a blister folding element co-operable with the blister support element. The blister folding element and the blister support element can be movable relative to each other between a first position, for insertion of the blister into or onto the blister support element, and a second, burst, position in which the blister folding element has co-operated with the blister support element.

Dry powder inhaler

A multi-dose dry powder inhaler with a blister folding device is provided. The inhaler comprises a housing containing a blister strip, and a blister opening device. The blister strip comprises a plurality of individual blisters, each blister containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user. The blister opening device comprising a blister support element for supporting one of said blisters, and a blister folding element co-operable with the blister support element, the blister folding element and the blister support element being movable relative to each other between a first position, permitting movement of said blister into or onto the blister support element, and a second, burst, position in which the blister folding element has co-operated with the blister support element. Movement from the first position to the second position causes two spaced apart portions of said blister to each fold relative to the remainder of the blister to produce two spaced apart openings, each opening extending along the circumference of the blister bowl, beginning and terminating at points located on the fold line No piercing of the blister at any stage is required.

A blister piercing element for puncturing the lid of a blister containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user is disclosed. It comprises a body having a surface and an opening in the surface for the passage of air, or for the passage of medicament entrained in air, through the body. The body includes a pair of spaced cutting teeth upstanding from the surface in spaced side-by-side relation, each cutting tooth projecting in cantilevered form over said opening and each having a distal cutting edge at a free end remote from said surface. The distal cutting edge of each tooth is configured to initiate a slit in a blister lid when pressure is applied to a blister lid by the teeth and the teeth are spaced from each other so that separate slits cut by the distal cutting edge of each tooth propagate in a direction toward each other between the teeth as the teeth continue to penetrate a blister lid. The pair of spaced cutting teeth form a single slit in a blister lid that defines a single flap which is folded into the blister by the teeth.

A data processing apparatus and method are provided for managing access to content within the data processing apparatus. The data processing apparatus has a secure domain and a non-secure domain and comprises at least one device which is operable when seeking to access content stored in memory to issue a memory access request pertaining to either the secure domain or the non-secure domain. Further, writeable memory is provided which can store content required by the at least one device, with the writeable memory having at least one read only region whose content is stored therein under control of a secure task, the secure task being a task executed by one of the devices in the secure domain. Protection logic is then used in association with the writeable memory, which on receipt of a memory access request seeking to access content in the at least one read only region, prevents access to that read only region if that memory access request pertains to the non-secure domain and is seeking to write content to the read only region. This enables the speed, power and flexibility benefits of placing content in writeable memory to be achieved without prejudicing the security of that content, by ensuring that that content cannot be modified from the non-secure domain.

Managing access to content in a data processing apparatus

A sound absorbent barrier has a sound absorbent layer disposed between a porous first cover and a second cover. The barrier also has a waterproof sound-permeable membrane between the first cover and the sound absorbent layer. The sound absorbent layer is thus protected from damage by the first and second covers and water ingress is prevented by the sound permeable membrane. The second cover may be non-porous to reflect sound waves which have passed through the sound absorbent layer back through the sound absorbent layer. Alternatively, the second cover may be porous to enable absorption of sound from two directions.

A data processing apparatus and method are provided for managing access to a display buffer. The data processing apparatus has a display buffer for storing an array of display elements for subsequent output to a display controller, with each display element having a security permission indication associated therewith identifying whether that display element is a secure display element or a non-secure display element. At least one processing unit is provided for executing a non-secure process and a secure process, each process issuing access requests when seeking to access display elements in the display buffer, and each access request specifying a location in the display buffer. Interface logic is associated with the display buffer for receiving each access request and is arranged for at least each access request issued by the non-secure process to determine the security permission indication associated with the display element currently stored at the location specified by that access request. Based on the security permission indication, the interface logic then determines how that access request should be processed. Accordingly, the interface logic can selectively prevent access to secure display elements by the non-secure process, so as to protect the security of secure display elements contained within the display buffer.

The present invention provides a test bitstream generator and method for generating test bitstreams to test a bitstream decoder that is arranged to decode bitstreams generated in accordance with a predefined syntax. The method comprises the steps of generating test code from the syntax, the test code being arranged when executed to generate a test bitstream dependent on values assigned to a plurality of variables, each variable having a number of interesting values. The method then involves executing the test code, including the step of, for each of said variables, assigning that variable one of its interesting values, in order to thereby generate a test bitstream dependent on the interesting value assigned to each variable. It has been found that this technique provides an automated process for extensively testing a bitstream decoder.
