The invention relates to a kit of parts for preparing a glass ionomer composition for dental use, the kit comprising a Paste A and a Paste B, Paste A comprising water, acid-reactive inorganic filler A, phyllo silicate(s), Paste B comprising water, poly-acid, non acid-reactive filler B, optionally chelating agent. The invention also relates to a hardenable composition obtainable by combining the pastes of the kit or parts and to the use of such a composition as or for preparing a dental cement, dental filling material, dental core build up material or dental root channel filling material.

Kit of parts for producing a paste type glass ionomer cement, process of production and use thereof

A capsule for mixing and dispensing a dental material which has a capsule body and a cavity extending into the capsule body. The cavity is closed by a liquid container. The liquid container has a cartridge forming a channel that extends between a front opening and a rear opening of the cartridge. Further the cartridge has a front foil closing the front opening and a rear foil closing the rear opening. The front foil is attached at the cartridge along a closed path circumferentially around the front opening. The front foil and the cartridge in at least a partial area of the circumferential path are separably sealed with each other, thus defining an openable valve through that path. The capsule has further a piston received in the channel of the cartridge and arranged such that the liquid is enclosed in the cartridge between the front foil and the piston. The capsule facilitates the preparation of a two-component dental material.

The application relates to a kit of parts for preparing a glass ionomer composition for dental use, the kit comprising a Paste A and a Paste B, Paste A comprising water, acid-reactive inorganic filler C, non acid-reactive filler A, Paste B comprising water, polyacid, complexing agent, non acid-reactive filler B, the mean particle size of non acid-reactive filler B being larger than the mean particle size of non acid-reactive filler A, the water content of the composition obtained when mixing Paste A and Paste B being below 20 wt.-%. The application also relates to a device for storing such a kit of parts and the use of the kit of parts and/or the device for preparing a dental cement, dental filling material, dental core build up material or dental root channel filling material.

Kit of parts for producing a glass ionomer cement, process of production and use thereof

The invention relates to a kit of parts for preparing a glass ionomer cement, the kit comprising a Part A and a Part B, Part A being a powder and comprising an acid-reactive filler in an amount above about 60 wt. %, the acid-reactive filler having a mean particle size in the range of 3.5 to 10 &#x3bc;m, an non acid-reactive filler in an amount above about 1 wt. %, the non acid-reactive filler having a mean particle size in the range of 1.0 to 3.5 &#x3bc;m, Part A not comprising a polyacid in an amount above about 1 wt. %, wt. % with respect to the weight of Part A, Part B being a liquid and comprising a polyacid in an amount above about 30 wt. %, water, a complexing agent, wt. % with respect to the weight of Part B. The invention also relates to a process of producing a hardenable or hardening composition and use thereof in the dental field.
