Disclosed herein is a medical system comprising a memory () storing machine executable instructions () and a trained neural network (). The trained neural network is configured to output corrected magnetic resonance image data () in response to receiving as input a set of magnetic resonance images () each having a different spatially constant frequency off-resonance factor. The medical system further comprises a computational system () configured for controlling the medical system, wherein execution of the machine executable instructions causes the computational system to: receive () k-space data () acquired according to a magnetic resonance imaging protocol: reconstruct () a set of magnetic resonance images () according to the magnetic resonance imaging protocol, wherein each of the set of magnetic resonance images is reconstructed assuming a different spatially constant frequency off-resonance factor chosen from a list of frequency off-resonance factors (); and receive () the corrected magnetic resonance image data in response to inputting the set of magnetic resonance images into the trained neural network.

Reduction of off-resonance effects in magnetic resonance imaging

The invention relates to a method of MR imaging. It is an object of the invention to provide an improved Bmapping method that is less affected by Trelaxation. The invention proposes that a first stimulated echo imaging sequence () is generated comprising at least two preparation RF pulses (α) radiated during a first preparation period () and a sequence of reading RF pulses (β) radiated during a first acquisition period () temporally subsequent to the first preparation period (). A first set of FID signals (I) and a first set of stimulated echo signals (I) are acquired during the first acquisition period (). A second stimulated echo imaging sequence () is generated comprising again at least two preparation RF pulses (α) radiated during a second preparation period () and a sequence of reading RF pulses (β) radiated during a second acquisition period () temporally subsequent to the second preparation period (). A second set of FID signals (I) and a second set of stimulated echo signals (I) are acquired during the second acquisition period (). The first and second sets of FID signals (IFID) have different T-weightings and/or the first and second sets of stimulated echo signals (I) have different T-weightings. A Bmap indicating the spatial distribution of the RF field of the RF pulses is derived from the acquired first and second sets of FID (I) and stimulated echo (I) signals, wherein the different T-weightings are made use of to compensate for influences on the Bmap caused by Trelaxation. Preferably, either the first or the second preparation period () is preceded by an RF inversion pulse to obtain the different T-weightings. MR imaging with T1 compensated B1 mapping

The invention relates to a method of Dixon-type MR imaging. The object () is subjected to at least two shots of an imaging sequence, each shot comprising an excitation RF pulse followed by a series of refocusing RF pulses, wherein at least a pair of phase encoded echoes, a first echo at a first echo time and a second echo at a second echo time, is generated in each time interval between two consecutive refocusing RF pulses. Two sets of echo signal pairs, a first set and a second set, are acquired using bipolar pairs of readout magnetic gradients in two respective shots of the imaging sequence. The bipolar pair of readout magnetic field gradients in the acquisition of the second set has an opposite polarity to that of the bipolar pair of readout magnetic field gradients in the acquisition of the first set. Alternatively or additionally the temporal course of the readout magnetic field gradients in the acquisition of the second set is reversed with respect to the temporal course of the readout magnetic field gradients in the acquisition of the first set. Alternatively or additionally the acquisitions of the first and second sets are different from each other with respect to the gradient areas of magnetic field gradients in the readout direction (M) preceding respectively succeeding the bipolar pair of readout magnetic field gradients. Finally, an MR image is reconstructed from the acquired first and second sets of echo signal pairs, whereby signal contributions from water protons and fat protons are separated.
