Proposed is a dosing module for injecting liquid urea-water solution into the exhaust tract of an internal combustion engine, which dosing module is composed of two pumps, specifically a delivery pump () and an aeration pump (). This permits firstly the injection of urea-water solutions and secondly safe and reliable ventilation of the system when the internal combustion engine is to be shut down.

A fuel injection apparatus has a high-pressure pump and a fuel-supply pump that delivers fuel from a fuel tank to the high-pressure pump. The high-pressure pump has a housing with an internal chamber that contains a drive unit for at least one pump element having a pump piston driven by the drive unit and delimiting a pump working chamber into which fuel is supplied via an inlet during an intake stroke and from which fuel is displaced via an outlet into the reservoir during a delivery stroke of the pump piston. The fuel-supply pump delivers fuel into the internal chamber via a connection that contains a check valve which opens toward the internal chamber of the housing and the inlet of the pump working chamber is connected to the internal chamber.

A fuel injection system having one high-pressure fuel pump and one fuel injection valve, communicating with the high-pressure fuel pump, for each cylinder of an internal combustion engine. A pump work chamber is defined by a pump piston, and the fuel injection valve has an injection valve member by which at least one injection opening is controlled. An electrically actuated control valve controls a communication of the pump work chamber with a relief region and a movable control piston acts at least indirectly in the closing direction on the injection valve member, and the control piston, on its side remote from the at least one injection valve member, is acted upon at least indirectly by the pressure prevailing in the pump work chamber. The control piston, with its side toward the injection valve member, defines a control chamber. The communication with the relief region, controlled by the control valve, discharges into the control chamber, and the control chamber communicates at least indirectly with the pump work chamber via a throttled communication.

Fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine

A high-pressure pump having a rotationally driven drive shaft and at least one pump element which has a pump piston driven at least indirectly in a reciprocating motion by the drive shaft which piston is guided in a cylinder bore and with its end remote from the drive shaft defines a pump work chamber. The pump piston is braced at least indirectly on the drive shaft. Extending through the pump piston is at least one line which discharges at the circumference of the pump piston in the cylinder bore spaced apart from the end of the pump piston that defines the pump work chamber and which leads toward the drive shaft to the region where the pump piston is braced.

High-pressure pump for a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine

The present invention relates to an injection nozzle () for an internal combustion engine, in particular in a motor vehicle. A first nozzle needle () controls at least one first injection opening (). A second nozzle needle () controls at least one second injection opening (). A control chamber () is connected via a throttle line () to a pressure chamber () in which it is possible to adjust the injection pressure. A first control piston () cooperates with a first needle unit () that includes the first nozzle needle () and the first control surface () of this first control piston () can be acted on by the control pressure prevailing in the control chamber (). In the closed position of the first nozzle needle (), there is an axial play () between the first control piston () and the first needle unit (). A second control piston () cooperates with a second needle unit () that includes the second nozzle needle () and can be acted on with the control pressure on a second control surface (). In a closed position of the second nozzle needle (), the second control piston () rests against the second nozzle needle () on the second needle unit (). At middle to high pressures in the pressure chamber (), both nozzle needles () can close quickly. With a rapid pressure increase in the pressure chamber (), the second nozzle needle () can open quickly and the two nozzle needles () can close quickly. With a relatively low to middle speed pressure increase in the pressure chamber (), the second nozzle needle () does not open or only opens at a higher pressure.

Injection nozzle

A fuel injection device for an internal combustion engine, having two valve elements each having a hydraulic control surface acting in the closing direction and associated with a hydraulic control chamber. A control valve influences the pressure in the control chamber, and loading devices act on the valve elements in the opening direction. The valve elements react at different hydraulic opening pressures prevailing in the control chamber. The control valve is able to set at least three different pressure levels in the control chamber: all of the valve elements are closed at a comparatively high pressure level; one valve element is open at a medium pressure level; and all of the valve elements are open at a comparatively low pressure level.

A fuel injection valve in which a pistonlike outer valve needle is disposed longitudinally displaceably in a bore and cooperates with a valve seat to control at least one injection opening. A control chamber regulatable by a valve is provided and pressure in the control chamber exerts a closing force at least indirectly on the outer valve needle in the direction of the valve seat. A pressure face embodied on the outer valve needle is acted upon by the pressure in a pressure chamber, which is embodied between the outer valve needle and the wall of the bore and extends as far as the valve seat, so that an opening force on the outer valve needle results that is oriented counter to the closing force. An inner valve needle is guided in the outer valve needle and controls at least one additional injection opening and is acted upon by the pressure in the control chamber at least indirectly in the direction of the valve seat.

Fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines

A fuel injection system with a fuel injection valve and a control valve, which control valve has a control valve member that can move longitudinally in a control valve bore. The control valve member is provided with a control valve sealing surface, which cooperates with a control valve seat and thereby controls the connection between a first pressure chamber and a second pressure chamber, where the first pressure chamber is connected to a high-pressure accumulation chamber. A bore is embodied in a valve body and contains a piston-shaped valve needle whose end oriented toward the combustion chamber controls the opening of at least one injection opening by virtue of the fact that it executes a longitudinal movement due to the impingement of the pressure in a pressure chamber; the pressure chamber is connected to the second pressure chamber by means of a supply conduit. The first pressure chamber is connected by means of a throttle to a damping chamber that is otherwise closed, as a result of which, pressure oscillations that are produced by the closing of the control valve are rapidly damped.

Fuel injection system for internal combustion engines

A fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines, having a housing in which an outer valve needle and an inner valve needle guided in it are disposed in a bore. The outer valve needle controls an outer row of injection openings, and the inner valve needle controls an inner row of injection openings, to which rows of injection openings fuel is delivered at an injection pressure through a high-pressure conduit embodied in the housing. A control pressure chamber in the housing can be made to communicate with the high-pressure conduit, and by means of its pressure, a closing force is exerted at least indirectly on the inner valve needle. The high-pressure conduit communicates with a control chamber, by whose pressure a closing force is exerted at least indirectly on the outer valve needle, and the control chamber communicates with the control pressure chamber. A control valve is disposed in a housing, and by means of the control valve, the control chamber can be made to communicate with a leak fuel chamber.

A fuel injection system having a high-pressure fuel pump and a fuel injection valve connected to it for each cylinder of the internal combustion engine. A pump piston of the high-pressure fuel pump delimits a pump working chamber that is connected to a pressure chamber of the fuel injection valve, which has an injection valve element that controls injection openings and can be moved in an opening direction counter to a closing force by the pressure prevailing in the pressure chamber. A first control valve controls a connection of the pump working chamber to a relief chamber and a second control valve controls a connection of a control pressure chamber which communicates with the pump working chamber, to a relief chamber. A throttle restriction is respectively provided in connections of the control pressure chamber to the pump working chamber and the relief chamber. An additional pressure chamber is provided, which is connected to the pump working chamber and is delimited by a pressure surface that is used to exert an additional force on the injection valve element in the closing direction.

A fuel injection apparatus having a high-pressure fuel pump and a fuel injection valve for each cylinder of an internal combustion engine, in which fuel pump has two pump pistons driven by the engine and delimiting a pump working chamber supplied with fuel from a tank. The second pump piston is guided to slide inside the first pump piston. The two pistons can be coupled so that they move as a unit during the delivery stroke or the second can be fixed in a passive position so that only the first executes a delivery stroke. The fuel injection valve a second injection valve element which is guided to slide inside a first injection valve element can be acted on by the pressure prevailing in a control pressure chamber which has a connection to the pump working chamber controlled by the second pump piston wherein the control pressure chamber is disconnected from the pump working chamber when the second pump piston is disposed in its passive position.

A fuel injection system having a high-pressure fuel pump connected to a fuel injection valve for each cylinder of an internal combustion engine in which the high-pressure fuel pump has a piston defining a working chamber communicating with a pressure chamber of the fuel injection valve, which has an injection valve element that controls injection openings and can be moved in an opening direction counter to a closing force by the pressure prevailing in the pressure chamber. A first control valve controls a connection of the pump working chamber to a relief chamber and a second control valve controls a connection of a control pressure chamber, which communicates with the pump working chamber, to a relief chamber. When a control piston acts on the injection valve element, in a stroke position of the control piston in which the injection valve element is in its closed position, the pressure prevailing in the control pressure chamber acts on a greater end surface of the control piston than in a stroke position of the control piston in which the injection valve element is opened by its maximal stroke.

A fuel injection apparatus having a high-pressure fuel pump and a fuel injection valve for each cylinder. An electrically actuated control valve controls a connection of the pump working chamber to a discharge region. A first injection valve element controls at least one first injection opening and a second injection valve element guided inside the first injection valve element controls at least one second injection opening. Pressure in a control chamber acts on the second injection valve element at least indirectly in the closing direction. By means of a connection controlled by a valve, the control pressure chamber is connected to a pressure region in which a respective pressure increase and decrease are delayed in relation to pressure in the pump working chamber when the control valve respectively closes and opens. The valve is acted on in the opening direction by the pressure prevailing in the pressure region and the closing direction by the pressure prevailing in the pump working chamber.

A fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine with direct injection includes a fuel injection device which can inject the fuel directly into a combustion chamber of the engine has a valve element bordering on a work chamber, and the position of the valve element depends on the pressure in the work chamber. A pressure booster piston borders on a control chamber on one side and on a high-pressure chamber on the other. A fuel supply can subject the control chamber to various pressures. The pressure booster piston is integrated with the fuel injection device and that the high-pressure chamber is integrated with the work chamber.
