A message, e.g., a SMS message, intended for a specific hardware item is provided from an application node to a message controller together with hardware identification data, e.g., IMSI or IMEISV. The message controller and a location updated subscriber database, e.g., an HLR, having stored information about the intended terminating hardware, interact and a further handling of the message is decided based on the provided hardware identification data and on data stored in the location updated subscriber database.

The present invention relates to a method, a system and a server for automatically discovering the common Multimedia Service Capability, and computer program. This solution avoid unnecessary use of the radio interface and is based on making use of the circuit switched network, e.g. the Intelligent network IN, as trigger to the packet switched network to find out about the calling as well as the called user's multimedia capabilities during a voice call. If there is a positive capability discovery result out of this for both users, the network will send a message to each of the two mobile phones that they should notify the users e.g. by displaying an icon above a soft button. It can be that the phone displays a shared multimedia-Image icon, if this was the only commonly supported capability of both users, up to a whole range of more or less complicated SMM services.

Method and communication system for automatically discovering the multimedia service capability

A user terminal for use with a communications system. The user terminal comprises a non-volatile memory and a subscriber identity authentication unit configured in use to communicate with a removable subscriber identity module and with said communications system in order to authenticate a subscriber identity stored in said subscriber identity module. The invention relates to a method in an Access Network Discovery and Selection Function, ANDSF, node for distributing Closed Subscriber Group information. The CSG information comprises an Allowed CSG List of a first UE and cell information indicating position of a cell with controlled access associated to the Allowed CSG List. The method comprises retrieving an Allowed CSG List of the radio cell from a CSG Database over a first networkinterface (CSGi) between the ANDSF node and the CSG Database. Furthermore, the ANDSF node triggers the first UE to establish a connection to the ANDSF node over a second network interface (ANDSFi) between the ANDSF node () and the first UE. In addition, the ANDSF node receives cell information indicating the position of the cell with controlled access and the Allowed CSG List is sent to the first UE.

A method, a system, a server, and a computer program product are provided for Multimedia Capability discovery of different user terminals. Unnecessary use of the radio interface is avoided based on a network storage, which is accessible without registration to find out about the calling as well as the called user's multimedia capabilities during a voice call. If there is a positive capability discovery result out of this for both users, the system sends a message to each of the user terminals that they should notify the users, e.g., by displaying an icon above a soft button. There is no need for establishing a packet switched session, which uses a lot of radio interface signalling, until the Multimedia Service capability of both subscribers and their user terminals is investigated and responded to both user terminals and their users.
