A portable wireless neuromonitoring device can be used to diagnose and/or treat conditions of the brain and vision system. The device includes a sensor unit mountable on the head of a human subject and capable of recording signals from the brain in EEG and/or EFEG (electric field encephalography) mode, and the device can be used for simultaneous stimulus display and recording with latency of less than 1 millisecond. The device also includes electrodes that allow rapid set-up and measurement with low impedance contact with the scalp. The device can also be used in conjunction with virtual reality or alternate reality environments.

Portable brain and vision diagnostic and therapeutic system

Methods and systems providing adaptive assessment of a physical subject to efficiently collect assessment data and modify an assessment schedule based on the analyses. The methods and systems can control the timing of each assessment in order to collect data at times and under conditions that are most informative about the physical subject. Such adaptive methods and systems significantly minimize the frequency of data collection without loss in accuracy or precision and can increase test reliability through reduction in redundancy. The ability to estimate an unknown, underlying function using a small number of free parameters that remain constant regardless of the number of data points being estimated substantially reduces the error of the function estimate. Because estimates of the measurement error are achieved with a minimum of sampled assessments, and with great accuracy, the statistical power of clinical trials, for example, can be greatly increased.

Method and system for adaptive scheduling of clinical assessments

Systems, apparatus, and methods are provided for quantifying inter-ocular suppression in binocular vision impairment. The systems, apparatus, and methods may include a stimulus presentation device and a controller which present different stimuli to each eye of a patient. The stimuli can include letters, numbers, or shapes which are arranged in rows, and columns with a stimulus presented to each eye in a location corresponding a stimulus presented to the other eye. The combined contrast of corresponding stimuli equals a predetermined value, and this contrast can be adjusted with each iteration of stimuli presented. This adjustment can be based upon the patient's reports of what is seen and adjustments made by an algorithm executed by the controller. Suppression can thus be determined in terms of visual field location and quantified.

Quantification of inter-ocular suppression in binocular vision impairment

In some example implementations, there is provided a method. The method may include determining a probabilistic model representing threshold sensitivities across the visual field, the probabilistic model determined based on the data, the connection strengths, and the noise values. Related systems, methods, and articles of manufacture are also disclosed. In some implementations, the probabilistic model may include a continuous probability distribution.

Spatial modeling of visual fields

Data is received characterizing a result of a first visual sensitivity test assessing capacity to detect spatial form across one or more different target sizes, and different contrasts. Using the received data, one or more first parameters defining a first estimated visual sensitivity for a first range of contrasts and a second range of spatial frequencies is determined. One or more second parameters defining a second estimated visual sensitivity for a third range of contrasts and a fourth range of spatial frequencies is determined using the one or more first parameters and a statistical inference by at least presenting a first visual stimulus, receiving a response, and determining a second visual stimulus based at least on the response and at least a rule.
