The disclosed invention provides system and method for multi-path mesh network communications. The network system utilizes multiple communication paths and linearly encoded and disassembled packets through mathematical coding techniques that respectively travel the communication paths. The system includes an encoder, a transmitter, a decoder and a receiver. The encoder receives data from an external source and linearly encodes and simultaneously disassembles the data to generate copackets. None of the individual copackets contain decodable information of the data. The transmitter is coupled to the multiple communication paths and respectively transmits the copackets through different communication paths. The receiver receives the copackets transmitted through the communication paths. The decoder decodes available copackets and reassembles the data from the available copackets if a number of the available copackets are no less than a mathematically calculated number. The reassembled data has the complete information of the data originally transmitted.

System and method for multi-path mesh network communications

A phased-array antenna system includes: an array of discrete antenna modules disposed conformally with an exterior surface of a platform; a digital distribution system comprising a digital communications medium to convey digital signals to and/or from respective input/output ports of the antenna modules; and a controller system to supply and/or receive the digital signals to/from the antenna modules via the digital distribution system. The controller system controls relative phases of the digital signals to enable the antenna elements to form a directive antenna beam pattern. Each antenna module includes: an antenna element to emit and/or absorb RF signals; an input/output port to send and/or receive digital signals; an electronics unit including an A/D and/or D/A converter to provide an interface between the antenna element and the input/output port; and a housing in which the antenna element and electronics unit are packaged.

The disclosed invention provides a distributed directional aperture (DDA) system that is installed in a vertical lift aircraft that comprises a fuselage and a rotor system including rotary wings rotatably coupled to the fuselage. The DDA system provides capability to receive and/or transmit signals in one or more frequency bands, and provides communications, signals intelligence (SIGNINT), positional sensing, jamming, and offensive cyber on the vertical lift aircraft. The DDA system of the vertical lift aircraft includes a sensor and emitter array subsystem that includes a plurality of sensors and emitters distributed in the rotary wings, a beamformer subsystem that processes the sensor signals and emitter signals, and a telemetry subsystem that conveys signals between the sensor and emitter array subsystem and the beamformer subsystem.

One example described herein includes a launchable communications device. The device includes an electronic payload comprising a communication system configured to receive a first communications signal and to transmit a second communications signal along a communications path between a first communication station and a second communication station. The device also includes deployment equipment configured to deploy the launchable communications device and to sustain a deployment state of the launchable communications device with respect to a predetermined operational environment. The device further includes a rigid housing configured to substantially enclose the electronic payload and the conveyance equipment prior to and during at least a portion of deployment of the launchable communications device to the predetermined operational environment.

A distributed directional aperture (DDA) system provides the capability to receive and/or transmit signals, limiting that reception or transmission to a 3-dimensional beam. The DDA system includes sensing and/or emitting array subsystems which comprise sensors and/or emitters distributed across, within, or under the skin of an aircraft, ship, ground vehicle, or fixed installation. The sensors receive energy, convert the received signals to digital information, and transmit that information via a telemetry subsystem to a beamformer subsystem. The beamformer subsystem analyzes the received signals from the sensors and/or emitters in order to determine the signal content from a specific direction. The emitters transmit energy, converting signals received from the beamformer subsystem via the telemetry subsystem into energy emissions. Methods of providing the DDA system including subsystems thereof are also disclosed.

System and method for providing a distributed directional aperture

One example includes a digital communications converter. The converter includes at least one analog signal port configured to couple to at least one radiating element associated with an antenna structure coupled to an exterior surface of a vehicle. The at least one analog signal port can be configured to at least one of transmit and receive analog radio frequency (RF) signals respectively to and from the at least one radiating element. The converter also includes a digital interface configured to at least one of receive the analog RF signals or transmit the analog RF signals via the respective at least one analog signal port. The converter is also configured to convert between the analog RF signals and digital communication signals on a digital transmission medium that are at least one of transmitted to the digital communications converter via a digital communications cable and transmitted from the digital communications converter via the digital communications cable.

The control computer is configured to determine an axial position of each blade, determine a first blade that is displaced by a greatest distance along the axis in a first direction, modify an aspect of the first blade to facilitate reducing a vibration in the rotary blade system, determine if the vibration level in the rotary blade system is reduced, and select another rotatable member to modify such that a vibration in the rotary blade system is facilitated being further reduced.

A single program descriptor is assigned to each program in electronic programming guide (EPG) data which is transmitted to home communications terminals in a communications network. A relationship is then separately established between these descriptors and criteria which may be used by a subscriber to search the EPG data for programs of interest to that subscriber. Data for defining this relationship is also stored in the home communications terminal. The subscriber may then provide one or more of the above-mentioned criteria to search the EPG data for programs meeting the criteria. The programs which are determined to meet the criteria may be displayed on the television of the subscriber.

An electronic bonding device provides a seal for containers and equipment and allows the status of the seal to be remotely monitored. The device has a seal body housing sensing means and communication means, and sealing means for affixing the device to an item to be bonded. The sealing means comprises a line providing, between terminal end portions, a circuit having a detectible characteristic. In one embodiment, the circuit is an optical fiber light transmission circuit. Alternatively, the circuit may be an electrical circuit. A change in the circuit characteristic, e.g., a break in the continuity (optical or electrical), is sensed by the sensor and transmitted to a remote location by a transmitter, to indicate that tampering with the item has occurred. The line is provided with a protective sheath. In one embodiment, the sheath is a relatively flexible adhesive tape strip. In other embodiments, the sheath is a relatively rigid or flexible shackle member.

The integrity or the signator of an electronic document can be verified by embedding a security object, for example, supported by an object linking and embedding (OLE) capability, in the electronic document at a location selected by the signator. The embedded security object includes security information and an identifier for invoking the processing of the security information. The security information may include a document digest that characterizes the electronic document at the time the security object was embedded, a signature digest that identifies the signator and that characterizes the instance of the embedded security object, and the signator's electronic chop, which may be the signator's digitized signature or other graphic image. In addition, the security information can be encrypted using either private key encryption or public key encryption. When the electronic document is later displayed, the identifier invokes processing that decrypts the security information and calculates the document digest based on the current state of the electronic document. The signator of the electronic document can be verified based upon the result of the decryption. The integrity of the electronic document can be verified if the decrypted document digest matches the calculated document digest. If the signator and the document integrity are confirmed, the electronic chop is displayed in the document. If, however, the signator or document integrity are not verified, the electronic chop is not displayed. In addition, a warning message may be displayed if verification fails.
