A fragmentation plate composed of juxtaposed contacting metal bodies or fragmentation elements which is to be disposed in front of an explosive charge in an explosive grenade or other projectile, for example a sub-projectile. The metal bodies or fragmentation elements, for example, metal balls, are held, at least on the side of the plate facing the explosive, by a tray or shell, for example of sheet metal. The tray or shell may be perforated, i.e. provided with holes, for the metal bodies. Moreover, an encasing substance may be disposed between the tray and the bodies and over the outer surfaces of the metal bodies. Additionally, the fragmentation plate may have an outer covering shell or tray.

A casing for a projectile that includes a combustible propellant container is improved by the addition of a flexible spring steel bearing plate that includes a number of holes for the purpose of facilitating combustion of the propellant container and a number of radial slits to increase the plate's flexibility.

A fin-stabilized subcaliber projectile having a drive cage comprising a plurality of segments and surrounding the body of the projectile in its central region. A tail disc is fastened to the cage and jointly covers the segments and tears in the region of the joints upon the release of the cage. Both the tail disc and a plurality of reinforcing segments corresponding to the drive-cage segments, and a connecting piece produces the connection to a burnable cartridge case disposed at the tail end of the drive cage one behind the other, these elements being connected to the drive cage by means of non-burnable fastening means.

Fin-stabilized subcaliber projectile

A cartridge shell has a cup-shaped metallic case stub whose rim is internally recessed to form an annular shoulder against which an inner skirt of a polymeric sealing ring, forming an extension of that rim, comes to rest while being flush with the inner cup surface. The rim portion of reduced thickness may be adhesively bonded to the skirt internally overlying same; that portion may form an annular web with an enlarged edge bead received with a snap fit in a complementary annular groove of the sealing ring separating the inner skirt from an outer skirt concentric therewith.
