The present invention relates to positioning a medical imaging system in relation to an object. In order to provide improved positioning possibilities which facilitate the workflow during an intervention, a medical imaging apparatus () is provided with an image acquisition arrangement (), which is positionable in relation to an object () to acquire image data () of the object from different directions. An output unit () is arranged to provide the image data. According to the invention, first movement direction indicators () are provided to indicate possible movement directions of the image acquisition arrangement in relation to the object. Further, a display apparatus (), comprising a display area () to display image data () of an object provided by an image acquisition arrangement and a movement direction indication (), may be provided, wherein the movement direction indication is configured to provide second movement direction indicators () in relation to the displayed image data of the object to indicate possible movement directions of the image acquisition arrangement in relation to the object. The first movement direction indicators and the second movement direction indicators are equivalent.

Orientation reference system for medical imaging

A medical imaging system has improved positioning possibilities which facilitate the workflow during an intervention. A medical imaging apparatus () has an image acquisition arrangement (), which is positionable in relation to an object () to acquire image data () of the object from different directions. The present invention relates to the adjustment of movable X-ray imaging systems for aligning an object of interest and an X-ray imaging arrangement and comprises an X-ray imaging arrangement with a source and detector, at least one camera, a data processor; and a display, wherein the display is configured to display a graphical representation of at least one reference point in a first image at least partly overlaid with an actual image provided by the at least one camera to guide an alignment movement of the X-ray source and/or the X-ray detector and an object in relation to each other after an intermediate displacement.

Camera-based visual adjustment of a movable X-ray imaging system

The present invention relates to providing guiding information for operating an X-ray imaging system. In order to provide an improved positioning distance control facilitating the work flow, an X-ray imaging system () is provided, comprising a moveable X-ray source () and/or a moveable X-ray detector (). The system further comprises a plurality of object-surface detecting sensors (), a positioning detection arrangement (), a processing unit (), and a display unit (). The sensors are arranged such to detect object data of objects located between the X-ray source and the X-ray detector. The positioning detection arrangement is provided to detect the current position of the X-ray source and/or the X-ray detector and the position of the sensors. The processing unit is configured to compute a situation-map () of the current spatial situation between the X-ray source and the X-ray detector based on the object data provided by the sensors and the current position, the situation-map distinguishing at least between empty spaces and spaces occupied by rigid objects. The situation-map comprises a representation () of the X-ray source and the X-ray detector in relation to the spatial situation. Further, the display unit is configured to display the situation-map to a user operating the X-ray imaging system.
