A snap closure is provided for the detachable securement of a housing cover on a housing of a manually-guided implement, especially to secure an air filter cover that covers an air filter of an internal combustion engine for driving a tool of the implement. At least one snap hook is provided on one of the components that are to be secured together, namely the cover and the housing. The snap hook is provided on an end of an elastically deflectable leg that is disposed on the one component. The snap hook is tapered in the manner of a detent and when the cover is mounted on the housing the snap hook, accompanied by an elastic return force, is engagable in an undercut provided on the other component. The snap hook is deflectable in or parallel to a surface plane on the one component that carries the snap hook.

Snap closure

An exhaust gas muffler for an internal combustion engine, especially in a manually guided implement such as a power chain saw and the like, is provided. The muffler has a housing having an inlet opening and an outlet for engine exhaust gas. An essentially cylindrical spark killer screen is fixed in position at a wall opening of the muffler housing that forms the outlet. The spark killer screen projects into the interior of the muffler housing. Adjoining the spark killer screen on the outer side of the muffler housing as an extension of the cylindrical spark killer screen is an exhaust gas pipe. This pipe is provided with threads and serves as a fastening device with which the spark killer screen and the exhaust gas pipe, as a fire protector, are fixed in position in the wall opening of the muffler housing.

Exhaust gas muffler

The invention relates to a portable handheld blower/vacuum apparatus having a housing and a blower scroll formed in the housing. An impeller is provided in the blower scroll. Air is supplied to the blower scroll via an air inlet and air is directed away from the blower scroll via an air outlet. An air-conducting connecting tube is mounted on the air outlet via a housing-fixed connecting stub. A bayonet connection is provided in the overlap region between the connecting tube and the connecting stub. The bayonet connection includes a guide path lying in the overlap region. The guide path includes an axial segment and a peripheral segment connected thereto in which a radial cam of the other part engages. The cam is secured form tight by a latch connection in the peripheral segment of the guide path to ensure a reliable, mechanically loadable attachment of the connecting tube in the connecting stub.

Portable handheld blower/vacuum apparatus

A cutterhead for a string trimmer having a rotatable drive shaft is adapted to hold and meter a cutting filament during operational use thereof. The cutterhead includes a disc-like carrier fixedly connected to one end of the drive shaft to permit the carrier to rotate about a rotational axis. The carrier has a peripheral edge and a peripherally extending outer wall approximately perpendicular to the carrier along the peripheral edge. The outer wall defines a space for accommodating the cutting filament in the cutterhead and has a guide eyelet disposed therein to define a pass-through opening for guiding the filament from the space to the outside of the cutterhead where a segment of the filament extends radially outwardly from the outer wall to define a cutting plane when the drive shaft rotates. The guide eyelet is made of wear-resistant material and is adapted to the diameter of the cutting filament. A stop is disposed in the cutting plane for receiving the segment of the cutting filament thereagainst when the segment strikes an obstacle and is deflected during operation of the string trimmer. The stop is disposed radially forward of the outer wall next to the pass-through opening.

Cutterhead for a string trimmer

The invention is directed to a positive-engaging coupling between a drive part and a driven part. The positive-engaging coupling includes an insert portion defining a first noncircular cross section and formed on the driven part. The drive part defines a receptacle for accommodating the insert portion therein and the receptacle has a second noncircular cross section corresponding to the first noncircular cross section. The insert portion and the receptacle conjointly define an intermediate space when the insert portion is inserted into the receptacle. An elastic insert is inserted into the receptacle for filling out the intermediate space when the insert portion of the driven part is disposed in the receptacle. If an overload occurs, the elastic insert is destroyed and the insert portion rotates freely within the receptacle.

Positive-engaging coupling for a portable handheld tool

In an electric high voltage cable of 1-500 kV, the cable insulation is resistant to the formulation or the growth of water trees and consists of from 70 to 99 parts by weight of an ethylene polymer (I) and from 1 to 30 parts by weight of an ethylene copolymer (II) which is composed of from 80 to 92% by weight of ethylene and from 8 to 20% by weight of a C.sub.4 -C.sub.10 -.alpha.-olefin having a density of from 0.890 to 0.915 g/cm.sup.3 and a crystallite melting point of from 90.degree. to 125.degree. C.

Electric cables which contain insulations based on ethylene polymers

A spring action guide bar stop for portable power chain saw is located adjacent the saw housing near where the chain returns to the housing to absorb and dampen vibration during operation of the saw. The spring stop is preferably a leaf spring coiled into a loop so that the side of the loop contacts the object being cut with friction dampening being obtained by providing frictional contact between the ends of the spring loop.
