A method for rating the relevance of a test case for assessing the behavior of a technical system, whose dynamics are described by a scalar dynamics function in the current state of the system, in the control currently impressed upon the system, as well as in the time. In the method: an optimized control problem is set up, in which the scalar dynamics function and/or an integral thereof with respect to time, is to be minimized under the boundary condition that the dynamics of the technical system in the first order is limited to a function; it is ascertained how closely the test case approaches a solution of the optimized control problem; and the closer the test case approaches a solution of the optimized control problem, the more relevant the test case is rated for the assessment of the behavior of the technical system.

Rating of the relevance of test cases for technical systems

A method for validating a software, particularly a driver-assistance software. The method includes receiving of a sensor signal that is to be processed by the software; determining of a reference signal by an adaptive filter based on the sensor signal, the reference signal representing an anticipated sensor signal; determining an error signal based on the sensor signal and the reference signal, the error signal representing a performance of the software; determining an anti-sensor signal by a machine-learning unit based on the sensor signal, the machine-learning unit being trained with sensor signals already evaluated; controlling of the adaptive filter by a control unit based on the determined error signal and the adaptive anti-sensor signal; and validation of the software based on the determined error signal.

Method for validating a software

Magnetic parking sensor

A device of or attached to a roller body determines a rotational frequency of the roller body (or other object) rotating about an axis of rotation includes an acceleration sensor that detects an acceleration signal of an acceleration in a first direction extending in a radial or tangential direction to the axis of rotation of the roller body; and an electronic processing unit and configured to low-pass and high-pass, particularly adaptively high-pass filter, the detected acceleration signal, perform a derivation, with respect to time, of the filtered signal, optimize the signal with a subsequent absolute-amount generation and with moving averaging, and ascertain a frequency of the filtered acceleration signal, which corresponds to the rotational frequency of the roller body.

A method for operating a magnetic field sensor and an associated magnetic field sensor system. The method includes: detecting an output signal of the magnetic field sensor that describes a magnetic field detected by the magnetic field sensor; establishing an adaptive filter function of an adaptive filter based on a model that describes an influence of specific objects on the output signal; filtering the output signal with the aid of the adaptive filter; ascertaining a deviation between the output signal and the output signal filtered with the aid of the adaptive filter; and detecting a presence of an object to be detected, based on the ascertained deviation.

Method and system for operating a magnetic field sensor using adaptive filter to detect object

A device for detecting a driving event of a vehicle, having a triaxial acceleration sensor and a processing unit. The device may be fixedly installed on the vehicle. The processing unit is configured to detect a plurality of acceleration values within a specific time span using the acceleration sensor, carry out a wavelet transform of the acceleration values to determine first coefficients, and compare the first coefficients at least to stored second coefficients. The second coefficients represent a predefined driving event. The processing unit is configured to detect the driving event represented by the second coefficients as an occurred driving event when the first coefficients are in agreement with the second coefficients, and is configured to determine characteristic parameters of the detected acceleration values, to ascertain a specific mother wavelet as a function of the characteristic parameters, and to carry out the wavelet transform based on the ascertained mother wavelet.

Device and method for detecting a driving event of a vehicle

A method for determining an occupancy state of a parking space of a parking facility, including the following method steps: a. detecting magnetic field measured values in the surroundings of the parking space along an axis with the aid of a magnetic field sensor within a predefined duration; b. forming a Poincar&#xe9; diagram as a function of the magnetic field measured values detected in method step a; c. determining a line of best fit through the points of the Poincar&#xe9; diagram formed in method step b, with the aid of linear regression; d. determining differences in the vertical direction between the line of best fit and the respective points; e. calculating a mean value of the differences determined in method step d; and f. determining the occupancy state of the parking space as a function of the mean value calculated in method step e.

Fault tree analysis for technical systems

A radar sensor is mounted in the area of a parking space for a motor vehicle in such a way that if a motor vehicle is present in the parking space, signals that are emitted by the radar sensor are reflected back from the motor vehicle. A method for determining an occupancy state of the parking space includes the steps of emitting radar signals; receiving reflected radar signals; and determining whether a motor vehicle is present in the parking space, based on the reflected radar signals. The determination is based on noise components of the reflected radar signals.
