This invention relates to a noise reducing device, a wind turbine blade comprises such a noise reducing device, a method of retrofitted a noise reducing device, and a method of manufacturing such a noise reducing device. The noise reducing device comprises first noise reducing elements projecting from a base part having a third surface towards a second end. Second noise reducing elements are attached to the third surface and projects along the first noise reducing elements towards the second end. The first noise reducing elements are preferably serrations while the second noise reducing elements are bristles. The bristles projects at least into the gaps formed between adjacent serrations.

Wind turbine blade comprising a trailing edge noise reducing device

This invention relates to a noise reducing device and a wind turbine blade comprises such a noise reducing device. The noise reducing device comprises noise reducing elements projecting from a base part towards a second end. Airflow modifying elements projects further from the base part towards a first end. The noise reducing elements and airflow modifying elements are arranged on opposite sides of the base part and preferably have different dimensions and/or shapes.

Wind turbine blade comprising a noise reducing device

A system for monitoring the deflection of a wind turbine blade is described. The system comprises a wireless range-measurement system, having at least one wireless communication device located towards the root end of the blade and at least one wireless communication device located towards the tip end of the blade. The root end device is provided on a bracket projecting from the external surface of the blade, to provide a communication path between the root end and tip end devices which is less susceptible to interference from multipath effects, etc. There is further provided a method to derive tilt and yaw moments from measured deflections. A control method for such a system is also described, wherein the signal gain of the communication path may be varied based at least in part upon the deflection characteristics of the wind turbine blade.

Blade deflection monitoring system

A manufacturing method is described for a wind turbine blade, where layers of fiber material are laid up in a mold to form a portion of the blade structure. The fiber layers are infused with a resin which is subsequently cured to form the hardened blade structure. Some of the layers of fiber material are arranged so that a portion of the layers are kept resin-free during the infusion and curing steps, so that the fiber layer extends freely out from the external surface of the blade, preferably at the blade trailing edge, to provide a flexible blade trailing edge to reduce blade operational noise.

Wind turbine blade and an associated manufacturing method

A system and method for the verification and calibration of wind turbine sensor systems is provided. The system comprises an optical capture device provided on a wind turbine which is arranged to record the position of at least one light source provided at the wind turbine during operation of the wind turbine. The motion of the light source relative to the optical capture device can provide an indication of relative motion of a portion of the wind turbine during operation, which can then be used as an input to a calibration and/or a verification system for a sensor system of the wind turbine.

System and method for wind turbine sensor calibration

A control method for a wind turbine, in particular for a wind turbine blade is described. The control method makes use of the blade mode shapes, or natural vibration shapes, of the blade to detect the excitement level of the blade natural vibrations, and controls active lift devices on the blade in an effort to reduce the excitement levels, to reduce loading in the blade and the overall wind turbine structure. There is also provided a method of designing a wind turbine blade for use in such a method.

Wind turbine blade control method

The present invention relates to a wind turbine blade for a rotor of a wind turbine having a substantially horizontal rotor shaft. The blade may comprise a profiled contour comprising a pressure side and a suction side as well as a leading edge and a trailing edge, a chord extending between the leading edge and the trailing edge, and the profiled contour generating a lift when being impacted by an incident airflow. In a cross section of the wind turbine blade perpendicular to a lengthwise direction of the wind turbine blade, a suction side point is defined on the suction side at the trailing edge of the blade, and a pressure side point is defined on the pressure side at the trailing edge of the blade. The suction side point is movable in relation to the pressure side point, and the blade is further provided with a displacement device configured to displace the pressure side point and the suction side point so that a distance between the suction side point and the pressure side point can be varied. The present invention further relates to a wind turbine including such a wind turbine blade and to a method of operating a wind turbine including such a wind turbine blade.
