A system may include a first injection electrode, a second injection electrode, a first sensing coil, and a second sensing coil. The first injection electrode and the second electrode may each be configured to contact a material and conduct an alternating current through a portion of the material. The first sensing coil and a second sensing coil may each be configured to inductively sense a Hall current created by the alternating current and a magnetic field perpendicular to the alternating current. The first sensing coil and the second sensing coil may be coupled in series.

Systems, methods and computer storage mediums accurately measure wall thickness in a region of interest included in complex curved structures. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to generating a wall thickness loss distribution map of a region of interest that provides an accurate representation of wall thickness for the region of interest included in a complex curved structure. The wall thickness loss distribution map is generated from a two-dimensional model of the wall thickness loss distribution of the region of interest. The two-dimensional model is converted from a three-dimensional representation of the wall thickness loss distribution of the region of interest. The three-dimensional representation of the wall thickness is generated by ultrasonic waves generated by a transducer system that propagated through the region of interest.

Measuring wall thickness loss for a structure

A method is described for measuring an amount of loss of material thickness from a solid structure in which acoustic waves can propagate. The structure is in operation in contact with substances susceptible to changing a thickness of the structure. A system operable to implement the method is also described. The system comprises acoustic transducers arranged in operation in contact with a surface of the solid structure. The system comprises a processing unit operable to drive one or more of the transducers to excite acoustic signals in a wall of the structure. The acoustic signals travel a distance within the structure and are received at the transducers to generate corresponding received signals for the processing unit to process and analyze. The analysis enables a degree of material loss from the structure to be computed and then optionally displayed on a display unit. The acoustic signals correspond to various modes and the processing unit () is operable to isolate signal components in the received signals, which provide a more reliable indication of the degree of material loss from the structure.
