In a system for supervising the safety on a site with at least one movable object, a drowsiness detection system is arranged at the movable object for supplying data related to a drowsiness state of an operator of the movable object. A monitoring system remote from the movable object receives the drowsiness state related data and logs and/or evaluates this drowsiness state related data.

Improving safety on sites with movable objects

Vehicles and other objects in a surface mine are equipped with monitoring devices that communicate by radio in order to detect the risk of collisions. The devices are equipped with GNSS-receivers. At least one of the objects has two devices mounted to it. Each of the two devices determines its position independently, which in turn allows determining not only the position, but also the orientation, of the object.

Movable object proximity warning system

A collision warning apparatus, to be mounted to a vehicle, has a roof mount unit (), to be fixed to the vehicle's roof, as well as a cabin mount unit () to be located in the driver's cabin. A digital transmission line () is provided for connecting the two. The roof mount unit () houses the antennas as well as the analog circuitry of the apparatus, while the cabin mount unit () comprises a display (). The data sent through the transmission line () is digital, which allows to make the transmission line thin and flexible. The invention relates to a method for controlling a surface-modifying machine, wherein information on the desired condition and on the actual condition of ground to be prepared is provided and is used to derive control statements for the machine based on a comparison of the desired and the actual condition. The information on the actual condition is represented by a point cloud as a spatial distribution of discrete surface points. In order to derive control statements, at least two surface points each from the point cloud are used for every horizontal position so that non-differentiated information can be derived that for example also allow to identify various planes.

The aim of the invention is to monitor the travel way of a road processing machine that drives on a basic surface as well as the working height of a working part which is disposed thereon in a vertically adjustable manner. Method for operating a transponder

In a transponder application, at least one transponder and at least one interrogating reader, the reader has at least two receiving units so disposed, for instance at different distances, relatively to the transponder, that signals from the same are received at different levels by the receiving units. By combination, e.g. by subtraction, of the received signals, disturbing signals received at practically the same level are eliminated while the difference of useful transponder signals is available. This substantially improves system performance in transponder applications and allows to increase the operating distance between reader and transponder.
