A patient monitor system includes a monitor mount, a first monitor, and a second monitor adapted to provide for data and power transfer between the monitors and the mount. The monitor mount may detachably secure the second monitor, and the second monitor can detachably secure (or otherwise physically interface with) the first monitor. The first monitor may be first mounted or otherwise detachably secured to the second monitor to form an expanded monitor system, and the monitor system may be then detectably secured to the monitor mount. Alternatively, the second monitor may be first mounted or otherwise detachably secured to the monitor mount, and the first monitor may be subsequently inserted into or otherwise mounted within a mounting area defined by the second monitor, the monitor mount, or both the second monitor and the monitor mount.

Mounting and locking mechanisms for a patient monitoring system

A connector detection system includes a connector interface including a connector port having an interior volume configured receive a connector of a cable; and an optical sensor. The optical sensor includes a transmitter configured to transmit a light beam across the interior volume; a receiver configured to monitor for a reflected light beam corresponding to the transmitted light beam; and processing circuitry configured to determine whether the connector is inserted into the interior volume based on a monitoring for the reflected light beam.

Systems, methods, devices, and connectors are described herein for a modular patient monitoring medical device. A new generation of physiological measurement devices, such as Intelligent Patient Front End Devices (IPFE) can provide updated algorithms, features, and software updates for parameter measurement devices without corresponding releases of a new version of host monitor software. IPFEs, together with patient sensors, comprise a complete physiological patient parameter measurement delivery system. A number and a type of parameter measurement devices can be configured to meet varied and changing clinical needs. Remote access to versions, logs, self-tests, settings, history, and/or measurements via the Internet to one or more parameter measurement devices can provide a unified service approach. The connector is configured to electrically connect any two or more devices and provides an electrical connection that can be simply physically or tactually confirmed.

Modular patient monitoring medical device and connector

A monitor mount is configured to detachably secure a monitor via a coupling which can be disengaged with an actuator. The monitor mount may be configured to detachably secure the monitor to a support structure via a clip. The monitor may have a reversible cover. The monitor may have a simplified back portion. The simplified back portion may omit couplings or electrical connections such that a back surface of the monitor is continuous. A rack is configured to detachably secure a module therein in multiple positions in which the module is mechanically connected to the rack and electrically connected or disconnected to the rack. The monitor may be a patient monitor and the module may be a patient monitoring module.

An automatic power on apparatus, system, method, and circuit automatically control the on/off state of a first electronic device or a second electronic device. When the second electronic device is positioned on, in, or proximate to the mounting area of the first electronic device, the automatic power on circuit establishes a coupling signal between a first portion of the automatic power on circuit and a second portion of the automatic power on circuit, activates the automatic power on circuit based on the coupling signal, and automatically controls an on/off state of the first electronic device or the second electronic device based on the activation of the automatic power on circuit.

A System of mated connectors includes a connector having one or more connector quadrants comprising electrical contacts and a mating connector detachably secured to the connector. The mating connector includes one or more mating quadrants and electrical contacts. The mating connector configured to provide electrical coupling to the connector detachably secured thereto. The electrical contacts of a first quadrant of connector quadrants have a first predetermined pin-out and the electrical contacts of a second quadrant of the connector quadrants have a second predetermined pin-out. The electrical contacts of each quadrant of a first pair of the mating quadrants have the first predetermined pin-out and the electrical contacts of each quadrant of a second pair of the mating quadrants have the second predetermined pin-out.

Rack mount

A monitor mount is configured to detachably secure a first monitor and/or a second monitor individually or concurrently. The first monitor and the second monitor may have different sizes. Any of the monitors may be a patient monitor.

Systems, monitor mounts and monitors

A system includes a monitor mount and first and second monitors. The monitor mount includes a first coupling, a second coupling, and a first power bus. The first monitor includes a first electronic visual display and has a size and shape configured to be detachably secured to the monitor mount by the first coupling. The first monitor can optionally be powered by the first power bus when secured to the monitor mount. The second monitor includes a second electronic visual display and a third coupling. The second monitor has a size and shape configured to: (i) be detachably secured to the monitor mount by the second coupling, (ii) detachably secure the first monitor by the third coupling, and (iii) surround at least a portion of the first electronic visual display when the first monitor is secured to the second monitor.

An apparatus includes a base component having a center axis and at least two index positions. The apparatus also includes a rotational component coupled to the base component. The rotational component is configured to circularly maneuver about the center axis between the at least two index positions. A docking receptacle of the apparatus is coupled to the rotational component and is configured to receive a monitor having an electronic visual display. The apparatus also includes a handle configured to facilitate maneuvering of the rotational component.

A connector system includes a male connecter including a male housing defining a recess and a plurality of pins arranged within the recess; and a female connector including a female housing configured to be insertable into the recess of the male housing. The female housing includes: front and back portions; a pair of longitudinal sides that extend from the front portion to the back portion; a planar side that extends from the front portion to the back portion, the planar side connecting first ends of the pair of longitudinal sides; a rounded side that extends from the front portion to the back portion, the rounded side connecting second ends of the pair of longitudinal sides; a front surface defined at the front portion by the pair of longitudinal sides, the planar side, and the rounded side; and a plurality of sockets formed at the front surface.
