A system for continuously processing a combination of materials includes a continuous process vessel having an outlet and one or more inlets. The continuous process vessel is configured to oscillate along an oscillation axis. An acoustic agitator is coupled to the continuous process vessel. The acoustic agitator is configured to oscillate the continuous process vessel along the oscillation axis. An outlet passage is in fluid communication with the outlet. At least a portion of the outlet passage or at least a portion of the continuous process vessel is disposed within a portion of the acoustic agitator.

Continuous acoustic mixer

The present disclosure provides a blended powder comprising a first ferroalloy powder and at least one iron powder or second ferroalloy powder. The present disclosure also provides a method for dry metal alloying, comprising combining powder comprising a first ferroalloy powder and at least one iron powder or second ferroalloy powder, and mixing the combined powders to form a blended powder.

Dry metal alloying compositions and related methods

The present application is directed towards systems and methods for adding components to materials being fluidized in a vibratory mixer by use of atomizers or sprayers. A mechanical system can fluidizes, mix, coat, dry, combine, or segregate materials. The system may comprise a vibratory mixer, mixing vessel containing a first material and a sprayer to introduce a second material. The vibratory mixer may generate a fluidized bed of a first material and the sprayer, coupled to the mixing vessel, may introduce a second material onto the fluidized bed to mix the materials in a uniform and even fashion.

Provided herein is a mechanical resonant system, comprising a frame; at least one pump disposed on the frame; one or two masses coupled to the frame by a first plurality of resilient members; and at least one voice coil actuator disposed within the frame and coupled to the at least one pump or to the one or two masses; wherein when the system comprises two masses, a second plurality of resilient members couple the masses to each other. Also provided are methods for using these mechanical resonant systems to evacuate a chamber, to compress air, or sense changes in pressure.

A system for continuously processing materials. The system includes a continuous process vessel (CPV) and an acoustic agitator coupled to the CPV and configured to agitate the CPV along an oscillation axis. The CPV includes at least one inlet configured for introducing first and second process ingredients into an upper portion, with respect to the oscillation axis, of the CPV. The CPV includes an outlet for discharging the product of mixing the ingredients from a lower portion, with respect to the oscillation axis, of the CPV. The CPV includes a plurality of mixing regions, each defined by an upper angled surface and a lower angled surface. The surfaces of each mixing region are angled such that the distance between the surfaces is greater towards the upper portion of the continuous process vessel than the distance between the surfaces towards the lower portion of the continuous process vessel.

Control of vibratory/oscillatory mixers

A mechanical resonant system includes a voice coil actuator, a payload mass (A,B), a driver mass (A,B,C) and a frame mass (A,B,C). The voice coil actuator includes a bobbin (), an electrical conductor () and a magnet assembly (). The bobbin is made from a material that is electrically nonconductive. The electrical conductor is coupled to the bobbin. The magnet assembly has a housing () and a magnet () coupled to the housing. At least a portion of the bobbin () and at least a portion of the electrical conductor () are configured to be positioned within a gap formed by the magnet () and the housing (). The bobbin and the magnet assembly are configured to oscillate when an alternating current is applied to the electrical conductor. The payload mass (A,B) is coupled to one of the bobbin and the housing. The driver mass (A,B,C) is coupled to the other of the bobbin and the housing. The frame mass (A,B,C) is coupled to each of the payload mass and the driver mass. The payload mass, the driver mass, and the frame mass are each independently moveable with respect to one another.

Mechanical resonant system

The present application is directed towards systems and methods for evaluating the integrity of objects through non-destructive means. The objects are evaluated for flaws and defects through the use of applied acoustic energy. The applied acoustic energy creates a dynamic response of the object being evaluated to determine the location of any flaws or defects in the object. During excitation, the flaws and defects in a sample object generate heat at the damaged or defective regions through frictional interactions of the discontinuities. A flaw detection system includes, a plurality of acoustic energy sources to excite an object, a camera to record metrics of the response of the object and a processor configured to receive and analyze the response of the object.

Methods and systems for detecting flaws in an object

The present application is directed towards systems and methods for continuously reacting a combination of materials by use of an acoustic agitator and a continuous process vessel. The system can react, fluidize, mix, coat, dry, combine or segregate materials. The continuous processing system can include an acoustic agitator capable of being removably coupled to a continuous process vessel. The continuous process vessel can include a first inlet for introducing at least one process ingredient, a plurality of plates configured for directing a flow of the at least one process ingredient through the continuous process vessel and capable of transferring acoustic energy generated by the acoustic agitator into the at least one process ingredient, an outlet for discharging a product of the at least one process ingredient, and a fastener for removable coupling the continuous process vessel to the acoustic agitator.

Mechanical system that continuously processes a combination of materials

Acoustic insulation comprising tuned resonant absorbers to absorb sound energy and prevent it from being emitted and a method of installation of the acoustic insulation. The acoustic insulation is preferably placed or sprayed by a thermal spray process. The resonant absorbers are strategically placed in the placed or thermally sprayed material to maximize sound absorption. Discrete mass absorbers may be sealed or left open.
