A carder has a drum formed as a hollow cylinder having a drum wall, a longitudinal axis, a circumference, an outer surface, a length, and a clothing provided on the outer surface. Working elements are arranged relative to the outer surface of the drum. Stub axles or a continuous axle is formed along the longitudinal axis of the drum and connected to the drum wall by spokes or disks. One or more acceleration sensors that measures structure-borne sound are mounted on one or more of: a side of the drum wall facing the longitudinal axis, the stub axles, the continuous axle, the spoked, or the disks within the length of the drum.

Carder

A carder includes a machine frame, a controller, and a drum provided with a clothing on an outer surface thereof. Working elements are disposed relative to the outer surface of the drum. The drum includes two stub axles or a continuous axial along a longitudinal axis thereof, the continuous axle having a first end and an opposite second end and each of the stub axles having an outer end face. An acceleration sensor that measures structure-borne sound is mounted on the end face of at least one of the stub axles or on the first end of the continuous axle.

A machine for producing a nonwoven feeds continuous filaments onto two surfaces that form a convergent passage. At least one of the surfaces is moving to drive the continuous filaments through the passage to form the nonwoven web. The continuous filaments have filament portions that are respectively received on the two surfaces to form spaced lateral web parts joined by a central web part formed by the continuous filament portions bridging the convergent passage. A vacuum is applied through the surfaces to assist placement of the filament portions and to direct the web as it emerges from the passage onto a horizontal take-up conveyor.

A device for the manufacture of a spun thread from a fiber sliver includes a fiber conveying channel with a fiber guidance surface. A yarn guidance channel includes an inlet mouth aperture disposed such that the fiber guidance surface guides fibers to the inlet mouth aperture. A fluid generating device creates eddy currents around the inlet mouth aperture to incorporate individual fibers into an end of a yarn being formed in the yarn guidance channel. The fiber guidance surface includes a fiber delivery edge having a shape and disposed relative to the inlet mouth aperture such that the fibers are guided over the delivery edge and conveyed to the inlet mouth aperture in an aligned generally flat planar formation.

Spinning device for production of spun thread from a fibre sliver

To manufacture a spun yarn from a loose fiber structure, devices are used in which a swirl chamber is provided between a fiber delivery channel and a yarn extraction channel. A fluid is blown into the swirl chamber. This device exhibits in the swirl chamber a guide surface, which delimits the swirl chamber downstream for the purpose of guiding fibers or fiber sectors that are swirling in the swirl chamber, the surface extending in collar fashion around the inlet aperture of the yarn extraction channel. The guide surface may form an angle of at least 30&#xb0; with the axis of the yarn extraction channel in the yarn extraction direction, and outer areas of this guide surface are at a distance interval from the inlet aperture of the yarn extraction channel that corresponds to at least one tenth of the effective staple length of the fibers that are to be processed.

Device for producing a spun yarn

The invention relates to a device for the production of a spun thread from a staple fiber strand by means of air spin method. The fiber guiding element according to the invention includes a fiber conveying channel with a fiber guiding surface, whereby the fiber guiding surface ends at a fiber presenting edge and leads the fibers of the staple strand in the form of an essentially flat arrangement lying next to each other. The fiber-guiding surface is configured in such a manner that it includes a diverting point which causes a deviation of the staple fiber strand, where the deviation is being provided in such a manner that the free fiber ends of the fibers within the staple fiber protrude from the staple fiber strand.

An apparatus for producing yarn spun from a loose fibre array using a vortex flow includes a fibre supply duct having an outlet opening. A vortex chamber in communication with the outlet opening is also provided. A yarn take-off duct is present with an inlet opening in communication with the vortex chamber. The vortex chamber is also in communication with an exhaust duct. A wall that defines at least a portion of the vortex chamber is present and has an opening disposed therethrough allowing for communication between the exhaust duct and the vortex chamber.

Apparatus for producing a spun yarn

An apparatus and method for producing a core spun yarn by means of a fluid delivery device is provided. The apparatus substantially comprises a fiber and thread guide means using a fiber guide conduit with a fiber guide surface for guiding fibers and a thread guide for guiding at least one continuous yarn into an inlet orifice of a yarn guide conduit and a fluid delivery device for producing a swirl flow about the inlet orifice of the yarn guide conduit so that the at least one continuous yarn can be spun over by the fibers. The thread guide is either a groove which is associated with the fiber guide surface, a bore disposed below the fiber guide surface, an individual tube-like element, or a tube-like element that is combined with a groove or a bore. The thread guide is introduced in a fiber and thread guide means, with the axis of the groove, the bore or the tube-like element being in alignment with the axis of the yarn guide conduit.

Apparatus for producing a core spun yarn

The invention relates to a spinning device for the production of a spun thread from a fiber bundle, including a nozzle part with an upper nozzle part and a lower nozzle part. Likewise, a spindle is included with an upper part and a lower part. In order to be able to carry out cleaning work between an edge of a fiber guide surface opposite an intake mouth of the spindle, or, at the start of the spinning, in order to be able to guide a yarn end through a yarn guide channel of the spindle onto the fiber guide surface, the upper nozzle part is capable of being raised or can be pivoted. In this situation, the lower nozzle part may remain stationary.

Spinning device

In a spinning position of a spinning machine a longitudinal fibre array first is refined in a drafting process, and the refined fibre array then is subject to a twist imparting process, and is taken off the twist-imparting zone as a yarn. In case of an interruption of the spinning process, the intake into the refinement zone is stopped before the delivery from the refining zone is stopped in such a manner that the longitudinal fibre array is severed between the intake and the delivery zones forming a free front end zone. The free end of the yarn, generated by the interruption of the spinning process, is treated in such a manner that a yarn end zone is tapered and is positioned upstream from the twist imparting zone. When the spinning process is resumed, the movements of the yarn end zone and of the fibre array front end zone for imparting twist are coordinated in time sequence in such a manner that these two zones overlap as they are subject to the twist imparting process. Furthermore owing to the controlled reduction in draft, adapted to the taper of the yarn end zone, a gradually increasing fibre mass is generated in the fibre array front end zone, which can be very exactly adapted to the taper of the yarn end zone.

A pneumatic spinning apparatus ( ) for producing a yarn or thread spun from fibres includes a nozzle block with a hollow room in which a spindle is arranged. At least one jet nozzle serves for generating a rotating air stream in the hollow room. Opposite the spindle a fibre guide member is arranged, which in the yarn forming process serves as a false core. A fibre guide duct within the nozzle block merges into the fibre guide. The fibre guide duct presents a variable cross-section along its length.

Pneumatic spinning apparatus

A spinning machine includes a plurality of spinning stations or places. Each spinning place includes a yarn formation mechanism that is supplied with staple fiber material in the form of a longitudinal object. Each spinning place includes a refining mechanism by way of which the longitudinal object is refined prior to the fiber material being supplied to a yarn formation mechanism. Each refining mechanism is independently drivable and controllable with respect to the other refining mechanisms. At least one sensor is disposed at each of the spinning places to detect at least one measurable property correlated with fiber mass per unit of length. A controlling monitoring unit is configured to receive and process data measured by the sensor. A control monitoring unit is configured with the refining mechanism at the associated spinning place for control of the refining mechanism as a function of the property detected and measured by the sensor independent of the refining mechanisms at other spinning places.

A bale opening machine is provided with a safety apparatus, by means of which there are produced safety barriers or fences parallel to lengthwise sides of a row of bales to be opened and/or substantially perpendicular to the direction of movement of the bale opening machine. The safety apparatus moves in conjunction with the bale opening machine. The safety apparatus can comprise mechanical and/or sensory protective structure. The sensory protective structure comprises one or more electro-acoustical transducers arranged in a sonic chute together with one or more reference reflectors such that transmitted acoustical signals are split into a measuring signal and a reference signal. The reference signal is reflected at one of the reference reflectors, whereas the measuring signal is reflected at a deflection reflector into the monitored area and back again by an object located in the monitored area.

A method for enabling the cleaning of fibers in a fiber cleaning machine in which a cleaning stream moves tufts around a rotating cleaning cylinder, the tufts being cleaned and opened. The cleaning action can be adapted to fibers of varying origin and to an increasing degree of opening in the course of cleaning. The cleaning stream is, to a large extent, controlled and controllable by decoupling it from the dynamic behavior of the transport streams which transport material to and away from the cleaning process. Compensation for variations in the cleaning stream, and in the material supplied for cleaning, are achieved by control of the cleaning intensity, in order that the tufts emerging from the cleaning process are constant and optimally cleaned and opened. The invention concerns also suitable fiber cleaning apparatus for the realization of the described method. The apparatus includes a cleaning cylinder positioned in a casing and a plurality of cleaning elements extending from the cylinder. The length, shape and density of the elements can change along the length of the cleaning cylinder so that the cleaning intensity varies along the length of the cylinder. Adjustable grid bars can be positioned below the cleaning cylinder.
