A motorcycle helmet includes electronic components operating within the motorcycle helmet. At least a portion of the electronic components is embedded within an outer shell of the helmet or an inner shell of the helmet. The plurality of electronic components comprise one or more internally mounted sensors for detecting objects present in a blind spot of a wearer. A software program may execute within the electronic components, which receiving processed output based on data from the one or more internally mounted sensors. An output mechanism integrated into the motorcycle helmet and electronically coupled to the electronic components may present the processed output to a wearer of the helmet.

In helmet sensors providing blind spot awareness

A 360 degree panorama can capture a view of a real world environment. The view can be a 360 panorama which can conform to a stereographic projection. The capturing can be performed by a one shot panoramic video capture device lacking a display. A 360 degree arc frame can be analyzed to determine a one-to-one mapping to a target projection. The target projection can be a cylindrical or an equirectangular projection. The stereographic projection can be mapped to the target projection in real-time without performing a digital stitching operation within the device. Distortion in the target projection resulting from the mapping can be corrected. The target projection can be conveyed in real-time wirelessly to a display of a communicatively linked computing device.

Providing a real-time via a wireless communication channel associated with a panoramic video capture device

A wearable health monitoring device includes one or more sensors for sampling biometric parameters of various physiological conditions of the wearer. The device is powered by a variable energy source that has an energy level that changes during operation. A rechargeable battery loses charge as it powers the device. A solar cell or cells can be used to recharge, or maintain charge of the rechargeable battery, or at least provide a supplemental power source to relieve the burden on the rechargeable battery to power the device. In some circumstances, the available energy can become diminished, and the device adjusts the rate at which it performs biometric measurements in order to conserve energy.

Device, system, and method for adjusting biometric sensing rate based on available energy

A stereographic panoramic media (SPM) can be received. The media can include a 360 degree field of view (FoV) within the horizontal plane and a usable FoV within the vertical plane. A first, second, and third field of view associated with the SPM can be identified. The first FoV can be 180 degree field of view and the second and third FoVs can encompass 90 degree FoV within the horizontal plane. The SPM can be translated to a cylindrical panoramic media (CPM). The CPM can conforms to a three dimensional hollow cylindrical projection (CP). The first FoV of the SPM can be mapped onto the inner surface of the CP, and the first and the second field of view can be mapped onto the outer surface. The CPM can provide a visible continuous field of view of at least 270 degrees.

Enabling a true surround view of a 360 panorama via a dynamic cylindrical projection of the panorama

A self-draining canopy that includes a covering, an orthogonal support structure, and a drainage system. The covering can have a substantially quadrilateral shape in a horizontal plane. The orthogonal support structure can be coupled to the covering. When erected, non-vertical elements of the orthogonal support structure that the covering rests upon can be positioned substantially orthogonally within the horizontal plane. A natural contour of the formed canopy can automatically direct environmental substances deposited upon the top surface toward the corners of the canopy where the drainage system is installed. The drainage system can transport environmental substances from the top surface of the canopy to an outlet location. Transportation of the environmental substances can be provided by the force of gravity. The drainage system can prevent the accumulation of environmental substances on the top surface of the canopy and deformation of the canopy due to such accumulations.

Self-draining canopy

A motorcycle helmet can include one or more internally mounted sensors within the motorcycle helmet. The sensors can be positioned within an embedded electronics layer which can include electronic components. The components can include logic processing components. The layer can be sandwiched between an outer shell of the helmet and an inner shell of the helmet. A software program executing within the logic processing components can receive input from the sensors in real-time. The software can automatically execute a programmatic action in response to receiving the input.

Embedding intelligent electronics within a motorcyle helmet

A motorcycle helmet can include electronic components operating within the motorcycle helmet. At least a portion of the electronic components is embedded within an outer shell of the helmet or an inner shell of the helmet. The electronic components include an internally mounted Global Positioning System (GPS) transceiver that is part of a GPS subsystem of the electronic components.
