A number of inventory units is determined for each promotional campaign that corresponds to a promotion inventory utilization type, based on a difference in estimated demand value for the inventory units for a specified duration for a scatter inventory utilization type and current value of actual demand units for the specified duration and a gross sum of the values for defined number of weeks of each promotional campaign and a plurality of constraints. Inventory units are allocated among each inventory utilization type based on number of inventory units for each promotional campaign to meet defined parameters for the defined amount of inventory units for specified durations until the end of the specified upcoming time-frame. Content is distributed via a channel based on allocated inventory units.

Promotion planning for managing allocation of inventory mix utilizing an optimization framework

A system is provided for cross-platform proposal creation, optimization, and deal management. The system generates a proposal plan corresponding to a distribution of target audience across a set of delivery platforms based on an adjustment of a request parameter associated with a request. The proposal plan is executed for a first time period in a flight on a first delivery platform from the set of delivery platforms based on a plurality of client-defined requirements corresponding to the request. The proposal plan is optimized for a second time period in the flight by an in-flight re-distribution of the target audience across the set of delivery platforms. Execution of the optimized proposal plan is controlled for the second time period in the flight on the first delivery platform.

Schedule spot counts for allocations of spots are generated based on a selling title and week combination structure for a pending deal for an advertiser, and simulated spot schedules are generated based on schedule spot counts for the advertiser for a quarter. Estimates of unduplicated audience for new spot schedules are generated based on corresponding attributes for each simulated spot schedule and a proposal for the advertiser's deal is generated based on the unduplicated audience estimates. Half-hour assignments within selling title-weeks are generated based on the schedule spot counts, and are randomly sampled over the quarter to generate the simulated spot schedules. The sampling may be constrained to allow one unit from any simulated spot schedule to air in a half-hour assignment on any given network and selection of half-hour assignments for unit placement are constrained to a specified subset of time, and/or a selling category on networks of interest.

Generation of reach, mixture, and pricing utilizing a framework for audience rating estimation

The television program scheduling system receives from one or more published data sources, historical audience data for previous telecasts of the shows on one or more television networks, and calibrates a model for audience rating estimation based on the historical audience data. The calibrated model for audience rating estimation may be utilized to generate estimates or projections of audience in the future. The television program scheduling system may generate an optimal schedule assignment of the shows to time periods that maximizes total resulting estimated audience based on the calibrated model for audience rating estimation. The generation utilizes a time expanded network in which each node represents an assignment of a show to a specific time period, with a specific stacking, and preceded by a lead-in show, and a feasible transition between two nodes represents a valid transition between two shows.
