A vessel has a hull, a contact area at the hull near keel level for attaching to a structure, a lifting device and a lifting cable attached thereto and extending along a heave compensating member. The lifting cable extends along a substantially vertical lifting trajectory to a connect position below keel level. The heave compensating member includes a guide element for guiding the lifting cable and which is connected to a displacement device. The heave compensating member includes a compensator arm with a pivot end pivotally connected to a pivot point on the vessel at a predetermined transverse distance from the lifting trajectory, the cable guide element being attached to a free end of the compensator arm at or near the lifting trajectory, guiding the lifting cable in the direction of the pivot point, the arm being at or near the free end connected to the displacement device.

A submersible mooring buoy for a floating vessel comprises a compartmented hull; a plurality of non-buoyant, catenary anchor lines each connected to the hull and a spring buoy such that the hull may be submerged without sinking to the seafloor by flooding selected compartments; and, a plurality of mooring legs anchoring each spring buoy to the seafloor.

Submersible mooring system

An offshore platform includes a buoyant hull comprising three or more interconnected pontoons and a plurality of support columns. The support columns support a deck or structure that supports equipment and/or payloads above a water surface. The support columns extend upwardly from respective ends of the pontoons to the deck or structure supported above the water surface. Anchoring members anchor the platform to the seabed.

Battered column offshore platform

A tension leg platform includes a deck supported on the upper ends of three or more columns interconnected at the lower ends thereof by horizontally disposed connecting members. The columns are battered inwardly and upwardly from the platform base to the deck. Tendons connected at the columns anchor the platform to the seabed. The footprints of the base of the battered columns and the tendons are larger than the footprint of the deck supported on the upper ends of the columns.

Battered column tension leg platform

A tension leg platform includes a deck supported on the upper ends of three or more columns interconnected at the lower ends thereof by horizontally disposed pontoons. The columns are battered inwardly and upwardly from the pontoons to the deck. Tendons connected at the columns anchor the platform to the seabed. The footprints of the base of the battered columns and the tendons are larger than the footprint of the deck supported on the upper ends of the columns.

A conduit structure () connects subsea oil wells to a floating structure () such as a vessel, in shallow water, the conduit structure providing a low cost and reliable fluid connection during drift of the vessel. The conduit structure includes a seafloor riser support () with a lower end () fixed to the seafloor and an upper end () lying a plurality of meters above the seafloor. A flexible pipe or hose () extends in a double catenary curve from the top of the seafloor riser support, at a downward incline away from the seafloor riser support and then at an upward incline to the floating structure. A rigid pipe () can extend along a plurality of meters of the height of the riser support to minimize the required length of flexible hose and facilitate installation.

Shallow water riser support

The disclosure relates to an improved chain hawse ( ) having a radius of curvature (p) such that the interlink angle (x) is not more than 15&deg;, preferably not more than 11&deg;. According to one embodiment, the chain hawse ( ) comprises an internal support element ( ), on which the chain links ( ) are supported by two ridges ( ) that are relatively narrow and that are placed close together. Hereby the chain links ( ) are supported along their short sides near their points of interconnection and long side bending is prevented. According to another preferred embodiment, a support element ( ) comprises a wedgeshaped structure with two slanting surfaces ( ) along which the planes of adjacent chain links ( ) are supported such that bending fatigue problems are mitigated.
