An apparatus for cone beam computed tomography can include a support structure, a scanner assembly coupled to the support structure for controlled movement in at least x, y and z orientations, the scanner assembly can include a DR detector configured to move along at least a portion of a detector path that extends at least partially around a scan volume with a distance D1 that is sufficiently long to allow the scan volume to be positioned within the detector path; a radiation source configured to move along at least a portion of a source path outside the detector path, the source path having a distance D2 greater than the distance D1, the distance D2 being sufficiently long to allow adequate radiation exposure of the scan volume for an image capture by the detector; and a first gap in the detector path.

Extremity imaging apparatus for cone beam computed tomography

An apparatus captures radiographic images of an animal standing on the apparatus. A base portion supports the standing animal and a moveable x-ray source is mechanically attached to the base portion. A digital radiographic detector is also mechanically attached to the base portion, and the x-ray source and the detector are configured to capture a radiographic image or a scan of at least one of the legs of the animal.

An x-ray imaging apparatus revolves a digital radiation detector and a radiation source about an imaging area where a subject is positioned to be imaged. A housing encloses the source and the detector, and includes an open housing gap to allow movement of the subject into the imaging area by moving through the open gap. A housing extension may be deployed to close the housing gap and to enclose the detector as it revolves. Shielding assemblies prevent exterior access into the housing.

Extremity imaging apparatus

A CBCT imaging system comprises a digital radiation detector and radiation source. A detector transport moves the detector along at least a portion of a first curved path and a radiation source transport moves the radiation source along at least a portion of a second curved source path. The detector is configured to travel at least a portion of the first curved path, and the radiation source is configured to travel at least a portion of the second curved path. The detector is configured to obtain a plurality of 2D projection images over a range of scan angles for reconstructing a 3D volume image using the plurality 2D projection images.

A method and apparatus are disclosed for obtaining an x-ray image from an x-ray imaging apparatus using a digital radiography receiver installs a retrofit connection apparatus that adapts the x-ray imaging apparatus for use with the digital radiography receiver by forming a receiver interface channel for communicating signals to and from the digital radiography receiver, forming an operator interface channel for routing at least an input expose signal from an operator control to the connection apparatus and forming a sensor interface channel to receive at least an active x-ray emission signal from a sensor positioned operatively near an x-ray system of the x-ray imaging system of the type configured for film or computed radiography. An input expose signal over the operator interface channel can initiate a reset of the digital radiography receiver over the receiver interface channel.

Firing delay for retrofit digital x-ray detector

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for obtaining an x-ray image from an x-ray imaging apparatus using a digital radiography receiver installed as a retrofit connection apparatus to adapt the x-ray imaging apparatus for use with the digital radiography receiver by using a receiver interface channel to communicating signals to and from the digital radiography receiver, using an operator actuated switch cover for at least an expose operator action of a manual operator control that is configured to generate at least an input expose signal, where the operator actuated switch cover is configured to resist the generation of the expose signal by the expose operator action of the manual operator control until a reset of the DR receiver is initiated and acknowledged.

Interposer mechanism for a retrofit digital X-ray detector and methods of using the same

A method for managing a portable x-ray detector for an x-ray imaging apparatus registers at least one portable detector with a processor that is associated with the x-ray imaging apparatus. A generated signal is indicative of the location of the registered portable x-ray detector relative to the x-ray imaging apparatus. An alert indication is provided when the generated signal indicates separation of the registered portable x-ray detector from the x-ray imaging apparatus beyond a predetermined distance.

Portable digital radiography detector loss prevention

A method and apparatus are disclosed for obtaining an x-ray image from an x-ray imaging apparatus using a digital radiography receiver installs a retrofit connection apparatus that adapts the x-ray imaging apparatus for use with the digital radiography receiver by forming a receiver interface channel for communicating signals to and from the digital radiography receiver, forming an operator interface channel for routing at least an input expose signal from an operator control to the connection apparatus and forming a generator interface channel for transmitting at least an output expose signal from the retrofit connection apparatus to an x-ray generator of the x-ray imaging apparatus. Firing delay for retrofit digital X-ray detector

A scanning apparatus for obtaining an image from a phosphor sheet has a cylindrical drum having an inner axis and having an inner surface that is concave with respect to the axis. A light collector is coupled to a transport mechanism that is actuable to translate the light collector along a direction parallel to the axis. The light collector has a beam generator with a light source and a rotatable beam deflector that is actuable to provide a rotating scanning beam. There are first and second cylindrical hoops circumferentially disposed about the axis and spaced apart from each other along the direction of the axis to define a slot aligned with the rotating scanning beam as it scans the phosphor sheet. At least one light detector is disposed to detect light stimulated from the phosphor sheet by the scanning beam.

Enhanced light detector for computed radiography

A method for obtaining an x-ray image stores an association between a digital radiology receiver panel, a label that is applied to one or more surfaces of the digital radiology receiver panel, and an x-ray imaging room. A response to an operator instruction designates the digital radiology receiver panel having the stored association as an active digital radiology receiver panel in the x-ray imaging room. Instructions are transmitted wirelessly to the active digital radiology receiver panel. Image data is obtained from the active digital radiology receiver panel following exposure to x-ray radiation.
