The preferred embodiments relate to a multipurpose hand device especially comprising utensils. A lift and/or release mechansim is assigned to said utensils, enabling them to be placed in a slightly raised position so that they can be grasped easily or locked in a swing-out position.

A multipurpose hand-held implement, comprising at least two components which can be locked in a closed position and then form a compact, essentially closed body, in the case of which the two components, with preferably confluent contours, are directed towards one another. In the closed position, the body forms the handle for actuating utensils, such as a knife, staple remover or cutter, which are accommodated in the components in a set-back manner, such that they can be pushed out. The two components are preferably connected to one another in an articulated manner and, after release of the locking means, can be moved relative to one another in order to actuate, for example, a stapler, a hole puncher or a pair of scissors. Further utensils, for example a magnifying glass, a pointer or a laser pointer may be accommodated in the components.

The preferred embodiments described herein relate to a multi-purpose hand-held device. Some of the preferred embodiments describe a multipurpose hand-held implement comprising first and second members connected together to move between a first position, in which they form together an elongated body, and a second position. In one preferred embodiment, a multi-purpose hand-held device is described comprising a stapler and/or punch and other fold-out utensils, wherein a module containing the utensils is preferably incorporated into the stapler-punch component assembly. Other preferred embodiments are described herein.

Pocket knife, having at least one side fabricated from a molded plastic material, includes a decorative element, for example a cross, inlaid flush with an outer surface of the side. The decorative element is stamped from a sheet of steel to provide a cross and a square frame which are positioned with respect to each other by two attachments. A greater portion of each attachment is pressed down, by stamping, from a curved first plane occupied by the cross and the frame to a lower second plane under the curved first plane. This greater portion is covered over by the molded plastic material. At least one portion of lateral flanks of the decorative element is disposed at an inclined angle in order to be partially covered over with the molded plastic material. Only one single operation is required for injecting the side of the pocket knife and for inlaying the decorative element in the outer surface of the side of the pocket knife.
