A scroll compressor including a compression mechanism assembled with a valve assembly disposed in a housing. The compression mechanism including a fixed scroll and an orbit scroll. The fixed scroll includes a recessed pocket having a first indentation with a first injection port and a second indentation with a second injection port. A double reed structure of the valve assembly is disposed in the recessed pocket of the fixed scroll. The double reed structure includes a first reed configured to selectively permit a flow of a fluid through the first injection port and a second reed configured to selectively permit a flow of a fluid through the second injection port. The valve assembly further includes a valve member disposed adjacent the reed structure and a valve gasket disposed between the valve member and a portion of the housing.

Vapor injection structure for a compressor

A scroll compressor including a compression mechanism assembled with an injection valve assembly disposed in a housing. The compression mechanism including a fixed scroll and an orbit scroll. The fixed scroll includes a first borehole provided with a first injection port and a second borehole provided with a second injection port. The valve assembly includes a valve member, a double reed structure, a valve gasket, and a valve body. The double reed structure includes a first reed, an opposite second reed, and a connecting portion. The first reed is configured to selectively permit a flow of a fluid through the first injection port and the second reed configured to selectively permit a flow of a fluid through the second injection port.

Injection valve assembly for a compressor

A variable displacement compressor for an air conditioning system includes a suction throttle valve. The suction throttle valve includes a housing with a cavity formed therein. A first piston reciprocatingly disposed in the cavity is configured to cause a variable restriction of a flow of refrigerant through a suction inlet formed in the housing. The suction inlet provides fluid communication between a suction port and the cavity formed in the housing. The refrigerant flows through the suction port in a direction that is not parallel to a direction the piston reciprocates within the cavity. The suction throttle valve is configured to increase the restriction in the suction inlet when a crankcase pressure associated with the variable displacement compression is increased relative to an external suction pressure of the refrigerant entering the suction throttle valve.

A compressor including a hollow housing having a suction chamber, a discharge chamber, and a crank chamber formed therein. A first fluid flow path provided within the compressor facilitates a flow of the working fluid from the crank chamber to the suction chamber. A second fluid flow path provided within the compressor facilitates a flow of a mixture of the working fluid and a lubricating fluid from the crank chamber to the suction chamber, wherein the second fluid flow path is selectively opened and closed by an annular sleeve.

Oil management system for a compressor

A variable displacement compressor is provided. The compressor has a crankcase, a plurality of pistons, a swash plate, and a rotor assembly. The crankcase has a plurality of chambers for receiving a fluid. The plurality of pistons are disposed within the cylinder block and are configured for reciprocal movement within the plurality of chambers to pump the fluid. The swash plate is slidably coupled to the plurality of pistons and has a first hinge member extending from a surface of the swash plate. The first hinge member has a surface that has a cam profile. The rotor assembly has a rotor shaft and a rotor plate. The rotor plate has a second hinge member extending from a surface of the rotor plate, whereby the surface of the first member is configured to slide and rotate over the second hinge member forming a hinge about which the swash plate rotates.

A swash plate type compressor is disclosed, wherein a shoe, having a first surface slidably disposed on a swash plate and a second surface received in a pocket formed in a piston, is formed from a copper alloy.
