A support structure for a device under test, (DUT), allows rotation, through a rotatable inner compartment applicable to fix, rotate and/or move the DUT. The inner compartment is manufactured of polymethacrylimide or other substantially RF-transparent material, and the inner compartment encloses, holds or attaches to the DUT, so that the inner compartment is made immobile relative to the DUT. The inner compartment is rotated by a first motor, so the DUT is placeable in a desired alignment angle between two conducted measurements requiring two different alignment angles. When measuring, the inner compartment remains in place and fixed with the DUT. A second motor is applicable for linear movement of the arrangement. A testing method for the DUT tests different temperatures by using two concentric compartments, and by feeding air having a desired temperature to the intermediate volume, and having through-holes on the wall of the inner compartment.

Support structure for a device under test allowing rotation

The present invention discloses a test method and arrangement for testing GNSS signals within a test chamber. The test chamber inner walls are supplied with transmitting antennas supplying simulated satellite signals, originating from a signal generator. Dynamic satellite movements are simulated by interpolating several transmitted signals in order to create a single true satellite transmission signal. All visible satellites are taken into account in order to create simulated GPS signals across the whole virtual sky. Phantom objects may be used near the device under test and the phantom object may be moved or rotated in preset patterns within the test chamber. Radio channel information can be modelled according to several different real-life environments, and also reflections from any surfaces and different multipath options are taken into account in the modeling, and also in the transmission antenna angles towards the device under test. Main application areas of the invention comprise sports watches, health related or any other monitoring devices, or any devices benefiting from the positioning information, also relating to animal applications. The device may be carried or worn by the human user or any other living creature, as a wearable positioning device.

Testing method and arrangement for GPS positioning measurements

In a wireless or cellular telephone system operated, for example, in accordance with the TIA/EIA IS-54 TDMA standard specification and frame structure, wherein RSS measurements in a Mobile Station of scanned communication channels are made in the slot intervals between the RX and TX slots to prepare for determining the gain (AGC) values needed in the receiver for a new channel identified over the current channel communicating with a Base Station, wherein slot interval measurements of the new channel signal strength are used to achieve a shorter handoff time in the Mobile Station and a more accurate initial AGC value in the receiver. The new channel signal strength is measured using the existing MAHO measurement procedure according to the IS-54 standard specification, or like procedure, and is performed in three slot intervals. The results of these measurements are used to determine the AGC value needed for the new radio channel. The handoff acknowledgement message is created, interleaved, and sent on the current channel during or after the measurement period.
