An example apparatus disclosed herein includes at least one memory, instructions in the apparatus, and at least one processor installed in a media presentation device to execute the instructions to at least: cause a video decoder to generate video display rasterizing information, present the video display rasterizing information via an output device of the media presentation device, and in response to monitoring being enabled, generate metering information corresponding to media presented in association with the video display rasterizing information presented via the output device.

Methods and apparatus for metering portable media players

Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture for media metering are disclosed. An example machine readable storage device disclosed herein includes instructions that, when executed, cause a processor to at least cause a video decoder to generate video display rasterizing information, present the video display rasterizing information via an output device of a media presentation device, and in response to monitoring being enabled, generate metering information corresponding to media presented in association with the video display rasterizing information presented via the output device.

Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture of a media presentation device is disclosed. The disclosed example includes an output device, an input to receive user input, and a monitor installed in the media presentation device at a time of manufacture of the media presentation device, the monitor provided to a manufacturer of the media presentation device by an audience measurement entity. An example disclosed method includes (a) identifying households in which the product of interest was purchased, (b) calculating consumption factors for respective ones of the households based on a consumption total of the product of interest for the corresponding household and a household weight, (c) selecting first candidate media of interest, (d) calculating a rating value indicative of a relevance of the product of interest to the candidate media of interest based on the mathematical product of the consumption factor and a viewing time for corresponding ones of the households, (e) repeating (c) and (d) for second media, and (f) ranking the first and second media for the product of interest.

Methods and apparatus to generate a media rank

Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to collect metering information associated with media presented by portable and computer media presentation devices are disclosed. A disclosed example method accesses a first data structure including metering information generated by at least one of first media presentation software executed by a personal computer or second media presentation software executed by a portable media presentation device. The metering information is associated with media presented by at least one of the first or second media presentation software. At least some of the metering information is then extracted from the first data structure and stored in a second data structure. The at least some of the metering information is then communicated from the second data structure to a data collection facility.

Example methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to collect metering information associated with media presented by portable and computer media presentation devices are disclosed. A disclosed example apparatus includes a headset configured to be communicatively coupled to a media presentation device and a speaker coupled to the headset and configured to emit audio based on audio information received from the media presentation device. The example apparatus also includes a metering information generator coupled to the headset and configured to be communicatively coupled to the media presentation device to receive the audio information and generate metering information associated with the received audio information.
