Concepts for classifying data are presented. Data to be classified is processed in accordance with a data decomposition algorithm so as to generate a plurality of data components, wherein each data component is associated with a respective different value or range of data transience. A subset of the data to be classified based on the plurality of data components. The selected subset of the obtained data is provided to a data classification process for classifying the data.

Data classification bandwidth reduction

Method, system and apparatus are provided for smart window activation to prevent laser disturbance. The apparatus may include a window formed of smart glass capable of being activated in discrete sections to be impenetrable to laser light and having a smart glass activation system. A sensor arrangement may detect laser light impacting on the window and may provide data as to the position of the impact on the window. A computer-implemented window protection system may receive input regarding detecting a laser beam impacting a window from the sensor arrangement, determine the position of the laser beam impact on the window and determine a section of the window in which the smart glass is to be activated, and control activation of the smart glass in the section of the window to make the section impenetrable to laser light by instructing the smart glass activation system.

Smart window activation to prevent laser disturbance

A hand-wearable haptic interface device for simulating interaction with a virtual object in a Virtual Reality (VR) or Augmented Reality (AR) environment is provided. The hand-wearable haptic interface device can provide improved simulation of an obstruction caused by a virtual object in a virtual or augmented reality environment. The device comprises a joint-movement restrictor adapted to be positioned adjacent a finger joint when the device is worn on a hand of a user. The movement restrictor is adapted to provide different magnitudes of flexion resistance force for resisting flexion of the finger joint based on a flexion resistance control signal.
