First electronics may determine a count of bubble jet resistors to be fired by a fire pulse group. A fire pulse generator may generate a fire pulse train for bubble jet resistors, the fire pulse train comprising a precursor pulse and a firing pulse separated by a dead time. Second electronics may adjust a width of the fire pulse for the bubble jet resistors of the fire pulse group by maintaining a first edge of the fire pulse relative to the precursor pulse and adjusting a second edge of the fire pulse relative to the precursor pulse based upon the determined count for the fire pulse group.

The printing apparatus comprises at least one printhead provided with nozzles for ejecting droplets of ink in a firing direction towards a printing media, and at least one priming device for performing a priming operation by which an amount of ink is caused to flow through the nozzles for maintenance thereof, wherein the priming device is actuated for said priming operation by a relative movement between the printhead being primed and the priming device, said movement being substantially in said firing direction.

An inkjet printing system having multiple independent power supplies for providing firing energy to the ink ejection elements of one or more printheads. Different ones of the power supplies can be connected to different print cartridges each of which prints a different color ink; to different arrays of ink ejection elements within a single print cartridge, where each array prints a different color ink; or to different sections of the ink ejection element array of a single printhead for a single color ink. The output of each power supply is independently set to an appropriate voltage level for each different print cartridge, ink ejection element array, or section of an array.
