The invention relates to a method, party challenging device () and computer program products for providing a challenge to a first terminal () intending to communicate with a second terminal () via two networks (N, N). The party challenging device receives a first electronic message (M) concerning a transfer of media from the first terminal to the second terminal sent from the first terminal () and addressed to the second terminal (), obtains communication contextual data associated with the first party or the first terminal, provides an electronic challenge message (CHM) including a challenge (CHl) based on the obtained data and sends the challenge message to the first terminal in order to enable a decision to be made how to process the invitation message for the second terminal based on the correctness of a response (RM) including a response to the challenge.

Challenging a first terminal intending to communicate with a second terminal

The present invention relates to fraud prevention and authentication of a device to a user. The method of authenticating a personal device according to the invention comprises a set up sequence, wherein at least a first preferred output format is selected by the user, and a device configuration verification sequence. In the device configuration verification sequence a checksum is calculated and converted to a user friendly output format based on the user selected preferred output format. In addition the checksum may be calculated based on variable, and user selectable, keying material. The personal device, after being authenticated according to the above, may be used to authenticate a second device.

Method and arrangement for user friendly device authentication

A tamper-resistant electronic circuit is configured for implementation in a device. The electronic circuit securely implements and utilizes device-specific security data during operation in the device, and is basically provided with a tamper-resistantly stored secret not accessible over an external circuit interface. The electronic circuit is also provided with functionality for performing cryptographic processing at least partly in response to the stored secret to generate an instance of device-specific security data that is internally confined within said electronic circuit during usage of the device. The electronic circuit is further configured for performing one or more security-related operations or algorithms in response to the internally confined device-specific security data. In this way, secure implementation and utilization device-specific security data for security purposes can be effectively accomplished. The security is uncompromised since the stored secret is never available outside the electronic circuit, and the device-specific security data is internally confined within the circuit during usage or operation of the device.

Secure implementation and utilization of device-specific security data

A system and method for navigation and selection in an information space at least partly displayed on a display screen at a mobile terminal device. The information space contains selectable information objects properties. The terminal device has motion-sensing means for control of the displayed information and of object selection. An information object may represent an information space whereby object properties determine display, navigation, and selection characteristics. In particular, a terminal device motion along a predefined axis affects a type of projection for mapping the information onto a display screen and, simultaneously, a scale factor.

Method for navigation and selection at a terminal device

A digital input symbol is transmitted to a receiver by determining one or more formant frequencies that correspond to the digital input symbol. In one embodiment, a pre-programmed addressable memory is used to map the set of possible digital input symbols onto a set of corresponding speech units, each comprising a superposition of one or more formant frequencies. A signal is then generated having the speech units. The signal is supplied for transmission over a voice channel. This may include supplying the signal to a voice coder prior to transmission. In another aspect of the invention, a forward error correction code (FEC) is determined for the digital input symbol, and the one or more speech units are modified as a function of the forward error correction code. In this way, the FEC may also be transmitted with the encoded input symbol. The modification may affect any of a number of attributes of the speech units, including a volume attribute and a pitch attribute.
