A bumper with integrated crumple is formed from a central beam () and two outer beams (), the ends of the central beam and adjacent ends of the outer beams being curved and welded together to form crash boxes ().

Bumper for a vehicle

A bumper beam has a generally U shape with a central flange (') and two webs (&#x2032;), which central flange in the longitudinal middle portion of the beam points outwards from a vehicle and has a longitudinal concavity (&#x2032;), which deepens progressively towards the end portions of the beam in order to change to or connect to fastening plates (&#x2032;).

Bumper beam

A bumper beam arrangement comprises a bumper beam fastened in two crash boxes (). The crash boxes are vertically higher than the bumper beam, and the bumper beam is fastened vertically off set in the crash boxes. The portions of the crash boxes that are not covered by the bumper beam extend forwards to the front end of the bumper beam profile.

A front bumper beam for a vehicle comprises a hat profile () with a cover () and it has its cover facing forwards. The beam has a central portion () with lower profile than its side portions () and, as distinguished from the side portions, this lower central portion () has a reinforcement in the form of a bent edge () on at least one of the side flanges () of the hat profile.
