A rotary disc filter includes one or more filter discs secured to a rotary drum and include a series of circumferentially spaced backwash guides disposed in the filter disc. During backwashing, the backwash guides function to engage a mixture of backwash and suspended solids and guide or direct the mixture to a sludge trough disposed in the disc filter. The backwash guides generally assure that a greater percentage of the backwash and suspended solids mixture end up in the solids trough.

The invention relates to a filter panel () for a drum filter () which is used for filtering off solid particles from a liquid. The filter panel () comprises a first side () being adapted to be attached to a drum () of said drum filter (), a second side () being adapted to receive a filter cloth (), and a plurality of through holes () extending from said first side () to said second side (), each hole () defining one or more side walls (). The filter panel () is characterized in that at least one of said holes () comprises an inclined side wall (). The invention also relates to a drum filter () for filtering liquid.

A disc filter includes a filtrate holding tank disposed below a series of disc-shaped filter members supported on a drum. Filtrate from the holding tank is used to backwash filter media on the disc-shaped filter members. Filtrate is discharged from the holding tank via a filtrate conduit. Bypass water is directed through a bypass conduit in the disc filter and mixed with the filtrate downstream of the filtrate holding tank. This assures that the filtrate used to backwash the filter media does not include bypass water.

A frame-type disc filter () is provided with a bypass water collector () disposed adjacent an inlet to the disc filter. Influent water overflows the inlet into the bypass water collector. A conduit is communicatively connected to the bypass water collector for directing the bypass water from the frame-type disc filter to an effluent channel that is independent of the frame-type disc filter.

A rotary disc filter device includes a rotary drum and one or more disc-shaped filter members secured about the drum. Each disc-shaped filter member includes a filter and a filter support comprising a series of modules. The modules each include a base that is secured to the rotary drum and a support arm projecting outwardly from the base. The modules are interconnected and disposed around the rotary drum.

The present invention refers to a module () for assembly of a filter frame () for at least one filter disc (not shown) of a rotatable disc filter, which filter frame is provided for supporting at least two filter segments (not shown), which filter segments together form the outer part of said filter disc. The module () comprises an intermediate member () intended to beat least partially provided between two adjacent filter segments. A rotary disc filter device includes a rotary drum and one or more disc-shaped filter members secured about the drum. Each disc-shaped filter member includes a filter disposed on opposite sides thereof and each disc-shaped filter member includes a modular frame made up, in part at least, by a series of interconnected modules. One module of the modular filter frame includes a base that is secured to the rotary drum and a support projecting outwardly from the base. A series of these modules are interconnected to form a modular filter frame.

A rotary disk filter and a module for building a filter support for a rotary disk filter are disclosed. The rotary disk filter may comprise a drum, which is rotatable about its central longitudinal axis. The rotary disk filter may be adapted to receive a liquid which is to be filtered. In one implementation, the rotary disk filter may comprise at least one disk-shaped filter member which on the outside of the drum extends outwards in the transverse direction of the drum, and which has a filter support and at least one filter portion supported thereby. A first liquid duct may extend from the drum through the filter member and out through the filter portion. The filter portion may be made of filter segments, which are detachably secured to the filter support. At least one second liquid duct may extend between adjoining filter segments to provide liquid communication between the filter segments. The module may comprise two inner support portions and two outer support portions for at least partial enclosure of two adjoining filter segments, and an intermediate support portion adapted to be arranged between the two adjoining filter segments.
