A method performed by a first node, for handling transmission of one or more packets and/or one or more messages from a sending to a receiving node. The first node operates in a communications network having at least one intermediate node between the sending and the receiving node. The first node sends a first indication to a second node explicitly indicating whether or not at least one of: i) the one or more packets are, or are to be, duplicated over a General Packet Radio Service Tunneling Protocol (GTP) layer, ii) duplication of the packets over the GTP layer is enabled, supported and/or active, iii) one or more messages are, or are to be, duplicated over a Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) layer between the first node and one or more next hop nodes, and iv) duplication of the messages over the SCTP layer is enabled, supported and/or active.

Method for connecting an integrated access backhaul node to operation and maintenance system

There is provided mechanisms for migrating UEs from node to an R-IAB node. A method is performed by a D-IAB node of the S-IAB node and the R-IAB node. The method comprises obtaining a request for replacement of the S-IAB node. The method comprises providing, to the S-IAB node, an indication of replacement of the S-IAB node. The method comprises obtaining, from the S-IAB node, scheduling information for the UEs served by the S-IAB node. The method comprises forwarding, to the R-IAB node, the scheduling information. The method comprises initiating migration of at least a subset of the UEs from the S-IAB node to the R-IAB node by providing instructions, via the S-IAB node, to at least the subset of the UEs to switch from is served by the S-IAB node to is served by the R-IAB node.

Migration of user equipment in an integrated access and backhaul network

A method and transition device for enabling communication of data between a remote radio unit and a central baseband unit in a wireless network. When detecting a first interface configuration used by the remote radio unit and a second interface configuration used by the baseband unit, the transition device configures interface functions, based on the first and second interface configurations. The interface functions are selected from a set of predefined interface functions associated with different interface configurations. The transition device then establishes a data flow between the remote radio unit and the central baseband unit over the transition device, and performs conversion between the first interface configuration and the second interface configuration for data communicated in the data flow, using the selected interface functions.

Method and transition device for enabling communication of data in a wireless network

There is disclosed a method of operating an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) node (, C, N) in a radio access network, the IAB node (, C, N) being connected to a first parent IAB node (, N, P) via a first backhaul link having a first timing, and being connected to a second parent IAB node (, N, P) via a second backhaul link having a second timing, the IAB node (, C, N) providing a communication link for access or backhaul, the communication link having a communication timing based on the first timing and the second timing. IAB downlink timing

A method performed by a first node. The first node operates in a communications network. The first node determines, based on a header of a packet, a first number of hops. The first number of hops are the hops the packet has to traverse in the communications network to reach a second node in the communications network. The header of the packet indicates a second number of hops between the second node and a third node in the communications network in a first path. The first node obtains a wired backhaul connection to a core network of the communications network from the third node. The first node then initiates routing the packet towards the second node based on the determined first number of hops.

Timing control for integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node transmission

A method performed by an IRU of a base station system, the base station system comprising the IRU, a BBU connected to the IRU, and a first RH connected to the IRU via a packet data network. The first RH is arranged for wireless transmission in RF of a plurality of antenna carriers to UEs. The method comprises receiving, from the BBU, a plurality of first digital representations of the plurality of antenna carriers of the first RH, each first digital representation representing one antenna carrier, the plurality of first digital representations being received in a baseband frequency range, frequency multiplexing the plurality of first digital representations of the plurality of antenna carriers into a second digital representation over a first bandwidth, and transmitting the second digital representation to the first RH.

Methods, intermediate radio units and radio heads of base station systems for transmission of antenna carriers

A radio network node receives a data block to be transmitted by the radio network node towards a destination node. The data block is received over an upstream wireless backhaul from an upstream radio network node and/or is to be transmitted towards the destination node over a downstream wireless backhaul to a downstream radio network node. The radio network node determines a remaining delay budget that indicates a remaining portion of a delay budget for the data block to reach the destination node. The radio network node makes a decision about how or whether to transmit the data block, based on the remaining delay budget.

Handling delay budget in a wireless communication system

There is provided mechanisms for transmit time adjustment. A method is performed by a second network node. The method comprises obtaining an indication of a need for transmit time adjustment with a first network node during ongoing communication with the first network node. The method comprises providing a first notification to at least one third network node to adjust its receive timing for receiving a signal from the second network node as part of ongoing communication with the second network node. The method comprises adjusting transmit timing for transmitting a first signal to the first network node as part of the ongoing communication with the first network node and for transmitting at least one second signal to the at last one third network node as part of the ongoing communication with the at least one third network node.

Methods, network nodes, and computer programs for transmit timing adjustment

Exemplary embodiments include methods and/or procedures performed by a first intermediate node of a multi-hop, integrated access backhaul communication network. Embodiments include receiving a data packet destined for a target node of the communication network, the first intermediate node being configured to communicate with the target node via a second intermediate node of the network. Embodiments include determining an address for the data packet based on a mapping function associated with the target node, and forming a packet header, including the previously-determined address, for the data packet. Forming the packet header can include at least one of the following operations: excluding one or more higher-layer protocol headers related to the second intermediate node; and incorporating without modification a portion, associated with the target node, of an existing header of the data packet. Embodiments include sending the data packet, comprising the packet header, to the address via the second intermediate node.

Packet forwarding in integrated access backhaul (IAB) networks

Exemplary embodiments include methods and/or procedures for Packet Data Convergence Protocol, PDCP, processing performed in a network node of a multi-hop, integrated access backhaul, IAB, communication network. Exemplary methods can include receiving () a configuration that includes a first characteristic associated with at least one of the following: the node and data packets received by the network node. Exemplary methods can also include receiving () a data packet having one or more packet characteristics, and determining () if there is a match between the one or more packet characteristics and the first characteristic.
